Recently I've been working with Makower designing quilts for their new fabric lines which I will make up into quilts once the fabrics are available. It's what I've really wanted to do from the time I started quilting and I have enjoyed it hugely. I've been drawing them up in Touchdraw and the very talented quilter, Jane Davidson aka Quiltjane has been drawing them up for me in EQ. I'll show you the pics when I can because the quilts are a lot of fun. Anyway as a side bonus, I'm now on the Makower sample mailing list which means I get sent sample packs of their new lines going into stores. So I thought it would be fun to share some of my favourites with you. (Makower work with Andover and all of today's lines are Andover lines). So here are the ones I particularly like. I love these two prints from Linen Closet for Renee Nannemann.
I love the palette and prints in this line, Annalee by Jane Dixon.

I've been drooling over Full Moon Lagoon by Mo Bedell for some time now and the colours are so rich in real life.
All the big companies are bringing out textured solids and these wickerweaves by Renee Nanneman have real depth to them.
And finally, wouldn't this fun line, Locally Grown, by Marisa and Creative Thursday, make a great Siblings Together quilt?!
Oh my goodness, talk about the perfect job! Any vacancies??!! Gorgeous fabrics too.
ReplyDeleteA dreamjob Lynne! Lovely fabric lines to play with!
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun! Makower are just down the road from me! I like those textured basics.
ReplyDeleteGreat fabric picks!
ReplyDeleteLove the bees, and the Full Lagoon is really lovely :-)
ReplyDeleteJane Dixon's last line Garden Party was one of the loveliest and most under promoted lines of all time, in my opinion. Quite similar to this new line but paler in colours. Just delicious with linen type fabrics. I'm so looking forward to this new one, it looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteWow, you're super busy at the moment! Congratulations for achieving your dream :) you totally deserve it! Xx
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the quilt you've created!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that bee print from Linen Closet!
Love those lines. I have a F8 bundle of Full Moon Lagoon on its way with my fabric mule. Cannot wait to see it in person.
ReplyDeleteI love that Full Moon Lagoon collection - thank you for tempting me ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love them all and congratulations on landing your dream job! I know from experience that it's great when you like the fabric and much, much harder when you don't ;o) (I used to make the odd sample for my LQS but had to stop...)
ReplyDeleteThat full moon lagoon is so fun, glad you've been having fun in between slogging away on the book :oD
ReplyDeleteThe fabrics from Jane Dixon are wonderful and what an exciting job you've gotten yourself!
ReplyDeleteOh wow what a lucky duck you are. such beautiful fabrics ....Sounds like a great job.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you are doing something you've always wanted to do! And lucky Makower to have you doing it too :) Can't wait to see the new designs!
ReplyDeleteLove those bumble bees in the last stack.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a heavenly job.
I can't wait to see what you have come up with.
Love that your tooting makower's trumpet. When I first found modern quilters on flickr a lot were very snooty about the whole designer fabric and would be sniffy about a lot of the great designs makower did - which totally fitted the modern design...they just weren't by uber famous designers.
ReplyDeleteLoving those bees x
ReplyDeleteoh MY! that Annalee is SO awesome... i rarely see a WHOLE line where i would buy Every Single Fabric and want to make something NOW but THAT is one i cannot WAIT to see, feel, cut, sew! Want!
ReplyDeleteThose bees are so awesome! Wow would I like to be on someone's mailing list like that!
ReplyDeleteSome people get all the luck. You are one of them. Those bees are awesome and so are the chickens!
