Having fun with Makower

Recently I've been working with Makower designing quilts for their new fabric lines which I will make up into quilts once the fabrics are available.  It's what I've really wanted to do from the time I started quilting and I have enjoyed it hugely.  I've been drawing them up in Touchdraw and the very talented quilter, Jane Davidson aka Quiltjane has been drawing them up for me in EQ.  I'll show you the pics when I can because the quilts are a lot of fun.  Anyway as a side bonus, I'm now on the Makower sample mailing list which means I get sent sample packs of their new lines going into stores.  So I thought it would be fun to share some of my favourites with you.  (Makower work with Andover and all of today's lines are Andover lines).  So here are the ones I particularly like.  I love these two prints from Linen Closet for Renee Nannemann.

I love the palette and prints in this line, Annalee by Jane Dixon.

I've been drooling over Full Moon Lagoon by Mo Bedell for some time now and the colours are so rich in real life.

All the big companies are bringing out textured solids and these wickerweaves by Renee Nanneman have real depth to them.

And finally, wouldn't this fun line, Locally Grown, by Marisa and Creative Thursday, make a great Siblings Together quilt?!

  5. Jane Dixon's last line Garden Party was one of the loveliest and most under promoted lines of all time, in my opinion. Quite similar to this new line but paler in colours. Just delicious with linen type fabrics. I'm so looking forward to this new one, it looks fabulous!

  16. Love that your tooting makower's trumpet. When I first found modern quilters on flickr a lot were very snooty about the whole designer fabric and would be sniffy about a lot of the great designs makower did - which totally fitted the modern design...they just weren't by uber famous designers.
