Since I started quilting, there is no doubt my mail has improved a quadrillion percent. I still get the bills, the catalogues, the statements and the leaflets but added to those are fabric deliveries. A fabric delivery day is a happy day full of promise and dreams of future quilts and projects. This morning two parcels arrived. The first was from Peg at Sew Fresh Fabrics. A selection of Japanese linens which I'm thinking of making bags and purses from. Any family members who spot something they really like, now is the time to claim your potential item if you might like a homemade gift for Christmas.
This second picture is my favourite Japanese linen of the lot from Sew Fresh Fabrics. Mainly because it's one print. Boy do I love it when they do that. All the fabrics you need for one project in one piece of yardage and already mixed and matched for you. I'm thinking a little bag will be made from this.
The other delivery was a bundle (OK two) of Architextures by Caroline Friedlander for Robert Kaufman. When I saw this line appearing here and there, I knew it would be a HUGE hit. It's a big old mix of pretty much everything you need in a modern project - texts, sketches (on the bias!!!), notebook scribblings, gradients, map diagrams. Its like an architect's sketch book all printed out on fabric. I have many plans for this line so will need to narrow myself down to just one project (or two).
So tell me, what's recently appeared in your mailbox or what do you wish had recently appeared in your mailbox?!
Heck, I'd love to get some yummies like these in my mailbox --- no such luck ;o(
ReplyDeleteI love mail days too. I can't wait to play with Architextures, you're so lucky to have this opportunity now!
ReplyDeleteOh boy, 2 bundles of Architexture?! Lucky miss! Cant wait to see what you do with it :-)
ReplyDeleteYesterday I got a package with some map prints Paris (Dear Stella) and London (Cool Brittania as well as some of the modern quilting (Robert Kaufman). And my last bee block arrived. I should be getting a package today with the Lucky Penny bike paths in all the colors (Just had to have them for my stash) and some other various fabrics for an EPP project. Yes, mail has definitely improved.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I call a happy mail day!! Can't wait to see what you'll make with them Lynne!
ReplyDeletecan I be a family member and claim the stack of Architextures? :D
ReplyDeleteCan`t way to see your new projects. Those are just wonderful fabrics bundle.Happy sewing!!
ReplyDeleteI'm part of the monthly mail from Pink Chalk and got my latest package from them. It's 2 charm packs of Vanessa Christenson's Simply Color and coordinating fabrics. It's a yearly thing and I've got lots of fun charm packs.
ReplyDeleteWaiting for a Liberty bundle.
Looking forward to what you do with all your new yummy fabrics!
I wish a bundle of Architextures would land in my mailbox. Maybe you should send me one or half of one?
ReplyDeleteOoooh, well I love the ones in the second photo, any combination seems to work. And you don't want to know what I got in my mail as it has nothing to do with quilting.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabrics! I may have to add some of those to my collection. I actually received two of the same Echino prints, just in different colors :), along with some Madrona Road, Red Thread, and Santa is Coming to Town (just to name a few). I love them all and haven't been able to bring myself to cut into them (sigh).
ReplyDeleteWell I would love the adoption papers to come through from your parents so that I could be officially classed as a family member, but in reality I just get Book People catalogues!
ReplyDeleteI think it was misdirected - that fabric was destined for my mailbox I'm sure! Definitely want some of that Architextures - so send me what you done need Lynne! Pretty please!
ReplyDeleteA quilt from my BFF who long arm quilted it for me. It is a Christmas gift for someone!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful fabrics! I love that you mention to your family that they better claim what they want a.s.a.p! lol
ReplyDeleteI wish the fabric order I placed FOUR WEEKS ago will find it's way into my mailbox, because it is for a very special quilt. In truth, I think that order is lost. :(
well, for starters, one of those FQ sets of Architexture!! It's right up my alley, especially the contour lines prints, but I love the bias sketchy ones, too. I'm also waiting patiently for my recent 2 for 1 Spoonflower FQ order with some linen tea towels I've got to get hemmed for Christmas gifts. I wouldn't complain if an anonymous angel sewist sent me a complete Weekender Bag, either. I'm going to have to suck it up, buy the pattern and make one for myself, already!
ReplyDeleteI agree, my mailbox has also improved drastically. Last week I got 2 jelly rolls of Howloween and some Reunion yardage and another piece of yardage but I can't remember. Some days it gets to the point where I forget I bought stuff I get too much coming. But that's not a bad thing, right? LOL
ReplyDeleteFirst or third for me please...oh shoot, I'm not a family member :-(
ReplyDeleteRecently, in a blog giveaway, I won a Kona Color Card with all 253 Kona solid colors. It arrived in my mail last week, but was too big to fit into my mailbox. Instead of my mailman bringing the package to my door, as usual, he left it sitting on top of my mailbox at the end of my driveway--more than 200 feet from my house. Luckily, the package was still there when I got home.
ReplyDeleteI love those Japanese Linens, especially in my favorite color blue. It would be awesome to find them in my mailbox.
I'd love to see Architextures or Oakshott in my mailbox. Neither of which I am expecting (yeah, I know, boo hoo...) but a girl can dream, right? :O)
ReplyDeleteI am not feeling very well so am not playing nice and wish that architextures had turned up in my mail box. I've had my eye on it ever since I first saw a picture.
ReplyDeleteI NEED a bundle of Architexture in my mailbox - soon!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous fabrics! I'm lucky enough to have friends that send me lovely fabric parcels so I'm happy with whatever drops through my letterbox!
ReplyDeleteWell I'd say that's a jump up and down doing the happy dance all day long happy mail day! Today I got 2 bits of happy mail from the same person, one package with quilt, backing and some fabric for playing with! The other an email - seems I won!
ReplyDeleteGreat mail day! I got black linen for cross stitching in the post box and The Frosted Pumpkins Kawaii Winter Sampler pattern in my inbox! Happy mail day for me too x
ReplyDeleteJ'adore vraiment "Architexture". J'en ferais des chemises pour mon fils si je les avais!
ReplyDeleteJ'aimerais recevoir chaque jour dans ma boite aux lettres, un tissu différent...un tissu surprise!! ça serait le paradis...:-)
And I thought I'd had the best post day!! I got some Alexander Henry Christmas fabric from Tracey @Quiltmehappy and her last bit of Home Sewing Comic fabric. But I do wish I got that Architexture instead.....
ReplyDeleteI'm wishing a fat quarter bundle of Cosmo Cricket's Dear Mr. Claus would show up in my mailbox. But I'm pretty confident that that's not going to happen...sigh.
ReplyDeleteDear Santa, I'd like to join Lynne's family for Christmas and have something made from that Echino frame fabric, especially the bit with the giraffe, I love that giraffe. I'm also loving that Architextures, so if you could drop off some of that too...
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I would love, love, love to play with some of that Architextures. Absolutely right up my little alley...
ReplyDeleteNo Fair!!! Its out of stock at Pink Castle!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy last parcel in the mail was Fat Quarter Shop's Mystery Designer block of the month. I've done a great job at not buying until UFO's are completed. :)
i just got (today) some anna maria horner velveteen to make scarves!!! so pretty. now i want architextures!
ReplyDeleteI'd LOVE one of those FQ bundles of Architextures!! I have a couple of charm packs, but...
ReplyDeleteI received my Kona Solids Color Card in the mail the other day. I did a happy dance because it means I can now order solids online. My LQS and Joanns are extremely limited in their selections of good solids, especially Kona Solids.
ReplyDeleteCommenting on here must have been good for my Fabric Karma, because the order I feared lost showed up today! :D
