Hexalong - in between the lines

You can join in this Hexalong at any time and use the templates I am using or just do your own hexagons.  The starter post for the HAL is here.  Share anything you make in the Lily's Quilts Flickr Group.  As well as designing hexalong blocks by using the lines on the equilateral triangle paper, you can think about using the lines that aren't on the equilateral paper.  Here are some suggestions and possibilities drawn out on paper.

An example is in this block.  I English paper pieced this in exactly the same way as all the other blocks but snipped into the internal corners in the six outside segments.

This block can be EPPed - use the numbers on the segments for colour placement.  I foundation piecing this on the machine and will be doing a tutorial for foundation pieced interlocking blocks like this in September.

  14. Just cruising along in my google reader . . trying to get through my 1000+ blogs to read (I'm sure it's somewhere around 2000+ in reality). Chatting with my fella as he's just come home for work. I GASP and stop talking because of the interlocking block. Which I'm attempting to figure out for my 4x5 blocks. :) LOVELY!

  16. That last hexagon is just stunning. And I know this is probably not how it goes, but I am still learning the ropes, but you asked on my blog what a zune is, and its pretty much an Ipod just a little less fancy. I didn't really want all those extra apps and stuff on my ipod so I went with a zune instead. :)
