Back in the Saddle

Do you pack away your sewing room for Christmas?  Mine's been packed away for three weeks partly because it's the dining room and partly because, if I don't pack it away, I know I wouldn't spend nearly as much time on the sofa watching soppy Christmas movies with the family.  So over Christmas I spent time working on this Emily Peacock embroidery which is one of those things you can do on the sofa by the fire in front of the tv.

And then, as soon as Christmas was over and packed up and the kids were back at school, it was time to take out the new fabrics and get started on the new things.  These jelly rolls came from Fat Quarter Shop and are going to go into a project for the spring issue of Fat Quarterly.

I've already started and am loving how the Denyse Schmidt, Heather Bailey and Tula Pink fabrics work together.

This pile arrived yesterday - Vintage Happy by Lori Holt for Riley Blake and will turn into a quilt for Love Patchwork and Quilting magazine - it's a quilt I've wanted to make for a while now and am pretty excited to see how it comes out.

This stash pile arrived from Amitie Fabrics in Melbourne as part of their stash club and will probably end up as extras in my Amitie Bring Me Flowers BOM.

And what about you - are you starting anything new for the new year?

  14. Just started again today after the xmas break! I am making a new quilt for 2014 from my 2 1/2 inch Liberty tana lawn squares. I am going to try and quilt-as-I-go as can't think how to manage a big quilt on my little janome!
