What's that for?

What's that Mum?

It's a fabric football made from Lucky Penny by Alison Glass - a new fabric line coming to Village Haberdashery in the New Year.

What's the point of it Mum?

Well Annie sent me the Lucky Penny fabric and I was so excited to play with it that I decided to make an oversized EPP hexagons and pentagons football.

  2. whenever my 5 yo son sees me unpacking fabric he always asks 'is that for me'? He's impatiently waiting for summer so I can make him pyjamas using the Cars fabric I bought a few month's back. A fabric football would equal destruction in this house but it is very pretty!

  6. I made something similar for my toddler, stuffed it lightly so it wouldn't cause too much damage. He knows it's his, but he thinks it's a cushion! If you throw the ball to him he sits down and rests his head on it.

  7. Who cares? It's lovely
If you had a sewing room and a basket ball hoop, when mulling patterns/ideas over you could lob it through the hoop ;o)

  12. Does it have to be 'for' anything?! Surely something that pretty can just lounge around looking good?

  13. Hey math whiz this ball has a triangulation number of T=3. Spread that around at parties.

  15. Oh, I think a small toddler would have fun with that. Or one could set it somewhere to look interesting like those shiny garden balls, although that would have to go inside. I want to make some smaller ones for Christmas decorations, maybe yours is small enough for that? I think it is fun and colourful.

  16. You could always use it for a pin cushion....or a projectile to launch at people who ask too many questions.

Ummm, thinking... Anyway, I LOVE it and I hope you will get a chance to make a quilt with Lucky Penny soon, because I would love to see what you would do with it!!! Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and support!
