Wowzers

Many moons ago I designed the LynneBobSquarePants block.  It has been a popular block around quiltblogland which always makes me happy.  It gives me a thrill each and every time someone makes something I've designed.  I think that's possibly the most fun part for me of quiltblogging.

And then sometimes, it gets taken a step further than I had ever imagined.

 

Sue from Sue Dario's Quilting Adventures has not only pieced this beautiful quilt but take a look at the quilting which elevates the quilt to a whole new level I never envisaged.


I have used pretty much every one of her blog pictures for this because the quilting has just blown me away.  I feel like her quilting has taken something relatively mundane (my block) and turned it into some kind of quilting masterpiece.  Until today I didn't even like feathers but I think I'm going to have to convert

  15. Good gravy, that's gorgeous! It's amazing how much the quilting contributes to the overall look of the quilt. Gorgeous pattern plus gorgeous stitching equals incredible.

  19. Yes, Sue is incredible. She did a quilt for me and worried it wouldn't be good enough. I cried each time she sent me an update photo of the progress. She quilted like this with her home machine - and only has had her longarm a short while, that is the Wowza!!
