It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

I'm not one to think about Christmas in April and I'm not one for buying masses of Christmas fabric but there is one line that has popped up over the past few days which has caught my eye and is going to be my fabric for Christmas for this year.  Maybe a quilt, maybe a table runner, maybe a tree skirt, napkins, stockings or maybe a patchwork waistcoat for my long suffering Welsh husband.

The line is called Winterkist and is by Monica Solorio Snow (for Lecien) whose fabrics I adore.  In fact my EPP project for last summer (blowing in the wind below) was based all around her beautiful Happy Mochi Yum Yum collection.  The colours in that were so sweet that I mixed it with some charcoal to balance it out.

Holiday Quilt

And lo and behold, Monica has added grey into Winterkist which makes it the perfect colour mix for me.

The fabrics are red, teal, orange, lime, pink and then that graphite.  Pretty much a perfect colour mix for me.

So what about you, do you yet have your eye on any of the Christmas lines which are popping up around internetland in the build-up to Quilt Market?

  7. I think Nigel would look dashing in a patchwork waistcoat. I can't believe its not top of his christmas list. In fact, why not make one for all the kitchen guilds hubbys? I'm sure they would TOTALLY appreciate it.

  10. Fabulous fabric - maybe you could make matching waistcoats for you and LSWH? Why should he be alone in his patchwork glory?! (Perhaps a pinny would be more likely to see the light of day?!)

  11. Oh good grief - I refuse to be drawn into this conversation; I am still eating Easter Eggs, I can only cope with one lot of festivities at a time!

  12. I bought a charm pack of Joy by Kate Spain last month :-) I'm looking forward to Aneela's Christmas line as I already had her spoon flower range and I think it's an extension of those. You're getting very fancy with your graphics these days! I'm still at the stick person drawing stage with Touchdraw.
