It's February!

Pinch and a punch for the first of the month and no returns.  Ha!  Gotcha.  Once again it is Fresh Sewing Day and Small Blog meet.  So what did you work on in January?  The thing I had the most fun with was this mini quilt which I have now cut into an octagon shape so that it can be hung straight or on point, backed, quilted and bound.  My husband who had not thought much of it at the start and had expressed a hope that it wasn't being made for him, has now come around and says he likes it although I'm not sure whether he's just saying that just to be nice.  And thank you again to the lovely ladies at Beach Harbor Quilts who let me copy their Eagle Harbor Summer pattern for this mini.

Mini storm at sea finished

I am seriously considering making a wallhanging or full quilt sized version of this in Oakshott shot cottons and maybe even splashing out on their colourbox which is on sale at the moment.  I'm even wondering about doing it as a quiltalong.  We'll see.  Would anyone fancy making along with me if I did?
Anyway, now it's your turn.  What did you work on in January?  Link up at the bottom of this post to share what you've been working on.  If you do link up, how about visiting at least four of the other blogs who link up - two above you and two below you - and stopping to leave a comment as well as visiting back anyone who visits you.  As always here's the button to grab:

And link up in the second linky if you are a blog with fewer than 50 followers and would like to get to know a few more people out there in blogland.  Write a post about this feature, add the button and then link up.

Visit more if you have the time.  And also visit back any new bloggers who come to visit you and get to know them and their blogs.

  2. that is amazing!

and the colourbox is fab - I spent my birthday money on one last year and love it. I've even managed to actually use some of the fabric rather than just stroking it all!

  10. What a beautiful mini! Love your use of solids. I might quilt along. It all depends on what else is going on. February looks like it will be a busy month. Is it as complex to make as it looks?

  26. Nothing was completed in January--unexpectedly, we ended up focusing our attention on our dog Nick, who blew out his knee. Surgery, p.t., TLC...and a few moments here and there spent working on a crazy quilt for my sweetheart. Given how the rest of the month has gone, I'm considering that a success.
