I spent hours today making this and asked Jack what he thought it was - a grandfather clock. I asked Nigel and he thought it was a penis. Can anyone guess what it is supposed to be?

ReplyDeleteI think it's supposed to be pretty. And it is. :D
ReplyDelete(and I'm a dork, hence the deleted comment.)
A podium for cats?
ReplyDeleteMy guess would be one of those lawn ornament things with the pedestal and shiny ball on top.
ReplyDeleteKnitting needle holder?
ReplyDeleteWhatever it is, it's sure pretty.
I have no idea... Don't worry about this what Nigel said - my husband told me exactly the same when I was sewing dragonfly:)))
ReplyDeleteOh! A microphone!
ReplyDeleteWell I am trying really hard not to see it as a penis.... but it's difficult (I put hard first but thought better of it)to see anything else now!! It's very pretty though It looks like a lighthouse with the light shining at the top.
ReplyDeleteHusband says penis or kaleidescope.
ReplyDeleteIt does look very phallic ... but I'm doubting you started out trying to make a fabric penis. I'm going with a wine bottle holder!
ReplyDeleteThe Lighthouse is a good guess. No clue but it's definitely not a penis that I'm familiar with! hehehe
ReplyDeleteI am having the best laugh of the day reading your post and the comments. Can't wait to hear what it really is supposed to be. Could it be a pulpit?
ReplyDeleteA letterbox to post letters into was my first thought, then I wondered about a lighthouse because of the fabric at the very top. I'll stick with letterbox
ReplyDeleteChris x
yes, i immediately thought of an english mail box. well, i guess it would be a "mail box" if it were american.
ReplyDeleteA skinny dalek, a toilet roll holder or I'm guessing something you would find in your kitchen, but definitely not in mine! Caviar cannister, quail's egg incubator... give up ... lady-toy!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a monument or shrine...
ReplyDeletethe most beautiful bollard I've ever seen?
ReplyDeletesomething to help you ride a horse backwards, perhaps? LOL -
I'm with Jack, I thought a grandfather clock too.
ReplyDeleteI'm seeing a torch!!! Sori! Jxo
ReplyDeletea vase?
ReplyDeleteSeriously Lynne I don't know how you manage to cause such uproar every time you get creative ;) Postbox or light house for sure!
ReplyDeleteI think it is a "guess your weight" or "fortune teller" that you found at the fairs.
ReplyDeleteI think it might be a scale. A very pretty scale!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think #13 Chris is right...British mailbox!
ReplyDeleteI would think a clock like Big Ben .. but it's not right. And I'm trying to see penis but it's just not happening for me. Gads, I want to know!
ReplyDeleteA chinese pagoda thingy?
ReplyDeleteI saw a post box straight off. Must say I'm concerned at the anatomy of some folks' husbands if this is similar!
ReplyDeleteHrmmm. Phallic references aside, it looks like a sundial to me.
ReplyDeleteA very proper and upright..English letterbox?!?!?!?!? It's very pretty whatever it is!
ReplyDeletepost box? I didn't read what the other's have said. I'm not seeing a penis. I am either very disturbed or not disturbed enough...
ReplyDeletei didn't read the other comments, so maybe it's already said, but my first guess was a public fountain/water dispenser (ummm...you know what i mean? those oldfashioned things standing in parks).
ReplyDeletea penis? nope, i don't see it :)
Parking meter?
ReplyDeleteLOL....well; I saw grandfather clock first...but I think I like Nigel's idea..hahaha....you can cause such a riot Lynne.....good for you; can't wait to find out what it is....lol
ReplyDeleteis it a postbox, well its really pretty
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing no on the penis . . . It sort of looks like a two-dimensional sundial to me (I know, it takes some imagination to see it, but I've got plenty of that). Otherwise, I'm going to agree with some of the others and say a mailbox of the traditional variety. :)
ReplyDeletelol!!! I so needed a laugh today! I have no idea what it is, but love the fabrics on it!
ReplyDeleteI think it looks like a sundial!!
ReplyDeleteI think its one of those science thingys, you know, the thing that you touch and the electricity follows your touch and your hair stands on end? Though it is much more amusing to think of you designing a patchwork prick - talk about your modern / contemporary quilting!
ReplyDeletea scale?
ReplyDeleteIs it a glue stick or a tube of lipstick? I would think either of these items would be straight where the ball top begins. Maybe it's a roll-on bottle of deodorant. I'll keep thinking about it.
ReplyDeletePost box was my first thought too.
ReplyDeleteI've read all the comments. My initial thought was baptismal font, then garden sundial on a pedestal, but knowing Ayumi's theme for Ringo Pie, I think the letter box guesses are the right one. Jeez, Nigel.
ReplyDeleteIt could be an aircraft control tower. I have to agree that it has a bit of a phallic aura.
ReplyDeleteMinding my own business...reading the blogs....just about spit out my drink.....
ReplyDeleteand I have the flu so it hurts to laugh. From pulpit to penis, it must be somewhere in between.
It looks to me to be a fountain. It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteRapunzel's tower
ReplyDeletea lighthouse? That's the first thought. Maybe a decorative post of some sort? Are you crafting quilts of Grecian buildings again?
ReplyDeleteBig Ben?
ReplyDeleteYou, my dear, have made a whajingy. It's lovely and phallic and sort of out of whallack!
ReplyDeletecomments here are HYSTERICAL!!!! My guess is something on a pedestal - gazing ball??? birdbath??? sundial???
ReplyDeleteI thought letter box too
ReplyDeleteIt looks like one of those Shake Weights!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm....I'm guessing a birdbath or garden fountain? These comments are pretty entertaining.
ReplyDeletehmmm.. it's definitely a parking meter... or a salt shaker...
ReplyDeleteI'm going to guess 1/2 of the set of a mortar and pestle. So then I asked my husband without even discussing the other comments and he also said penis without any other thought!
ReplyDeleteLaura T
Is it a clock?
ReplyDeleteI think that it looks sort of like a parking meter as well. But I'm betting it's a post box that I'm not familiar with because it's probably for Ayumi. ;)
ReplyDeleteDefinately a good old fashioned letter box....like the one outside my house.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a fantastic response, I will have to come back and see what it really is.... I thought at first glance - A sundial or a water fountain.
ReplyDeleteOh shoot - I was about to keep it clean and say 'a sundial or water fountain' when I noticed that Diannajessie beat me to it - and on second LONG look I'm going with post box now
ReplyDeleteSometimes we NEED to drag our minds up from the nether regions (only sometimes thought) ;0)
I think it's a speaker cover for your stereo. I can't wait to see your post to tell us what it is.
ReplyDeleteone of those old-fashioned post boxes which used to be red??
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was the tardis, I'm not exactly sure what a tardis looks like but as no one else seems to have mentioned it I will go with that!
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I'm a registered nurse and I've seen a LOT of peni (is that plural for penis? I'm not sure penises is a word? LOL).
ReplyDeleteThere is NO way that this looks like a penis!!
:)
