Here's a pic of my progress on the Amitie BOM, the Circle Game, so far. I started off machine piecing it then moved to hand piecing because some of those curves just work better hand pieced. But I'm now at the sad and sorry point of having to re-design the blocks for this month because my right arm has gone on strike. It did the exact same thing two years ago and I need to get back to the physio and get it sorted. In the meantime, no hand pieced curves for me :-(
Looks beautiful, complicated and almost worth the pain! Damn that human arm, you need to go bionic!

ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous! Bummer about the arm. For me it is the knee, which makes basting a pain (literally)....who knew quilting was such a physical endeavour? ;)
ReplyDeleteBest get some treatment on that hand! The blocks are lovely though, alterations or not!
ReplyDeleteWowza, these are seriously great blocks, Lynne -
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry your arm isn't playing nice - I totally understand as I get claw hand at totally random and mostly inconvenient times.
Hope you get it sorted soon so that you can go back to some really talented curved piecing :)
The blocks look fabulous! Such a shame when our bodies fail us!! I do hope they sort you out quickly :)
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful! I hope your arm doesn't give you too much trouble.
ReplyDeleteThese are so gorgeous! Hope you feel better soon!!
ReplyDeletethese blocks are amazing...and look really really hard!
ReplyDeleteThey look wonderful Lynne, I do hope your arm feels better soon. I had to give sewing a rest this weekend as I was having pain in mine, luckily it's feeling better now so I'm going to try again inbetween playing with J as he's off school. I hope you manage to get a good rest.
ReplyDeleteyou're doing great! I get carpal tunnel when I do hand work (and when I'm in the third trimester)... it's no fun! It's actually why I do most of my bindings by machine, and why embroidery is sort of out of the question in large amounts. I feel your pain! Get better!
ReplyDeleteThe blocks are amazing. really.
The BOM blocks are stunning and your piecing is perfect. Bummer your arm is playing up, best you get it looked at so you can continue making such beautiful pieces.

ReplyDeleteI just can say one thing: Wow! I so sorry about your arm.
ReplyDeleteSorry your arm is playing up on you - I've just got needle holes on the top of fingers from NTA this weekend, but it's nothing that a bit of leather and double sided tape won't fix, minimal expense there, unlike you unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteYour BOM blocks are just stunning - great job Lynne - I mush check out the link (for curiosity only)
I love the blocks. They seem to have movement. The colors are fantastic also. Sorry to hear about the arm. Hope it gets better soon.
ReplyDeleteI really like how you photographed your blocks and assembled them already into mock version of a quilt. I hope your arm is better soon.
