Hello everyone! I'm Sonia and I blog over at Fabric & Flowers. I'm so excited to share with you the Siblings Together quilt that we made. Ta da!!!!!!
The quilt is based on a Giant x&+ block which finish at 20" using Mimi Chez Moi by Moda with some Kona Snow added in for a bit of calm.
It is straight-line quilted 1/4" either side of the x and + seams which has created some fun extra crosses within the crosses!
I used at extra wide Botanics in Yarrow for the backing and I love it! It helps to balance and complement the quilt top, and did I mention that it's Botanics? What's not to love?! The binding is a 'scrappy' collection of three different colours of the same print from the Mimi range.
I must make a special mention to the Fat Quarter Shop for providing the backing and Lady Sew & Sew for the wadding for this quilt;
So, quilt stats:
Pattern::: Giant x&+ block
Fabrics::: Mimi Chez Moi by Moda, Kona Snow and extra wide Botanics Yarrow
Wadding::: Sew Simple Super-Soft Cotton Blend
Size::: 60" x 80"
I must make a special mention to the Fat Quarter Shop for providing the backing and Lady Sew & Sew for the wadding for this quilt;
And a big thank you to all of our other wonderful sponsors who have made all this quilt making possible;
I feel so privileged to be a part of this bee: I remember when I first came across Lynne's shout-out for a Siblings together bee and after reading all about it I just had to take part. I've got three Littlies myself the idea of them being separated for months on end just breaks my heart. There is still a need for more quilts and if you feel inspired I know that all quilts are very gratefully recieved. Or maybe you have a spare 30mins or so to make some individual blocks? Mary and Susy are asking for 9"wonky crosses in greys/blues/whites to make some boys quilts at the moment and I made these up this morning - lots of fun and quick too! All details can be found in the Flickr group.
Thanks for stopping by, Sonia x
