Winter Stars Quilt

As I mentioned briefly yesterday, this quilt, Winter Stars, is in the Xmas issue of Fat Quarterly which hit the e-newsstands yesterday.

It's a simple nine block quilt with cornerstones to add a bit of interest.

Each block is foundation paper pieced in eight pieces which seems a little bit boring but, once you get going, you can get yourself into quite a little production line and it can go quite quickly.

Made with Zoe Pearn's A Merry Little Christmas for Riley Blake and a background of Garden Pindot by Michael Miller fabrics from Sew Fresh Fabrics, it is a Christmas quilt which is not excessively Christmassy.

If you want to make your own, you can buy the issue at Fat Quarterly.  It's packed full of Christmas patterns to add to you things to do list.

And of course, just to change it up a bit, I quilted it in a diagonal cross hatch using a cream Aurifil 50wt which is pretty much the quilting I do on every single quilt I make!
