This morning it landed on my doorstep. The book I was waiting for and knew I would love. Simply Fat Quarters by the gang at Fat Quarter Shop. Ten quilt patterns designed to be made with FQs plus yardage.
Clear, simple assembly diagrams and none of those weird pictures where you see hands doing stuff. I'm not so keen on the books where hands do stuff. I'm more of a diagrams girl. Maybe because I have ugly hands and, if I wrote a book, I'd need a hand model.
A mix of modern and traditional fabrics but each could quilt be made with either. Each one is calculated for four sizes: crib, lap, twin and king.
Love this book. Don't worry about a hand model, "real" is in, in the quilting community!
ReplyDeletei'm so tempted by this book! Looks right up my street!
ReplyDeleteOh what a nice book! I can't wait to see what gorgeous quilts you make from this!!! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great book! I don't have many quilting books but I'm off to see if any of them have 'hands doing stuff' photos!
ReplyDeleteLol - hilarious. I'm not much of a hands-in-photos book unless it actually helps you understand what you're doing (like in videos).
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good one - I'll add it to my list of must sees.
I am trying not to hear you!
ReplyDeleteI have this book and am excited to try some of the patterns.
ReplyDeletehaha, I soooo have monkey paws and hate how my hands look in pictures!!!
You're too funny about the hand model needed. And you are so lucky to have that book in your hands. I want that one very badly myself.
ReplyDeleteI shall have to seek this one out!

Looks lovely. Another one to add to the list.
ReplyDeleteHands doing stuff is like wild animals being given cutesy names by documentary makers in the Serengeti. Ick
