My first quilt

Following on from my post yesterday about my quiltaversary, Sheila from Blue Patch Quilter has written a post about her first quilt with a link for us all to add a link to our first quilt.  So I'm going to go over there and link to my first quilt and I'd love it if more of you did the same so we can all see where we came from.  And, because I hate a blogpost without a picture, here is my second quilt, made with an Authentic layer cake and based on Amanda Jean's stacked coins quilts on Moda Bake Shop.

  1. I really like this quilt....the blocks with the circles just gives it what it needs.

  4. Unfortunately ( or maybe fortunately!) I made my first quilt 28 years ago and we didn't even have cameras then!

  8. Lol, I think I'm too embarassed to post my first quilt. It's sad. Really. It's actually in my dryer at the moment because bless my hubbys heart, he pretends to love it. I made it for him back when we were dating and it's just oh so wrong in so many ways!! :) I pretty much made up the pattern, didn't really pay attention to size or proper dimensions, the list goes on. Maybe I'll muster the guts to let it see the light of day...but I'll have to post a couple more recent photos that show I really do have *some* quilting skills!!

  10. My first quilt was not even made with the proper fabric. I have learned so much in 8 years about quilting. I'll link at Sheila's blog site.

  11. I'll have to get a picture of my first quilt first. I'll try to do that later today and add it to her group. Off to the playgroup for the girlie!

  12. I love your blog and was astounded when I read that you'd only been quilting for a year. My New Year's Resolution was to sew a quilt and I haven't started yet (my fabrics in the mail) and I am driving myself crazy. It's all I think about. I think I've caught the bug and I haven't started. Seriously, quilting dreams EVERY NIGHT. Haha
