A christmas present for you - the smallest giveaway EVER

Yes, today I have decided to give a tiny little Christmas present to one of my readers.  What is the present?  It's the teeniest little pile of teeny little scraps of fabric.  But not just any old fabric.  It is the fabric we are all waiting for with baited breath.  Coming out in spring, designed by a British fabric designer (the hugely talented Aneela Hoey), Sherbet Pips is the one we are all desperate to get our hands on.  So I thought I would share with you the tiny little pile of tiny scraps which I have, as a Christmas present to one lucky blog reader.  Here is the pile:
Xmas Giveaway
A few charm squares, some one inch wide strips and a pile of triangles.  So what do you have to do to have a chance of getting this teeny little sherbet pips stash in your letter box?  Simple, just let me know what you would do with them.  You don't have to follow me, you don't have to blog or tweet this - just let me know what you would do with them.

BUT, and here's the catch, I am going to CHOOSE the winner - no Mr Random Number generator on this one.  I don't want this little goldmine to go to someone who's just going to throw these into their scrap bin.  I want them to go to someone who will gasp in delight when they open the envelope and set to work making something fabulous.

So you have to tell me exactly what you are going to make - not just "a quilt" or "a cushion" or "a table runner" - NO.  For example, you might say - "I am going to make a table runner for my Mum for her birthday in January - it's going to be white with a run of charm squares down the middle, framed by a half inch pieced border and with geese flying around the outside".  You have to be that specific to be in with a chance of winning.  Why am I being so difficult?  I don't know but I think someone out there is going to come up with an idea that would be just perfect for this little pile of beauties.  And I will pick a winner on Xmas Eve so you have just today and tomorrow to come up with an idea that'll win you this little goldmine.

Good Luck and happy Christmas.

  1. Lynne this is going to be one of the most sought after fabric ranges!! I hope you're going to be carrying it!
If I was lucky enough to win I'd make as many coin purses as I could and give them to all my friends who have supported me in what has been a terrible period in my life
    Happy Christmas

  2. Normally I get inspired when the fabric arrives and not when I see it online.
Well, I see that there are several triangle cuts so it would definitely be stars and the little squared would be the centers.
But I am a bit torn between a quilt in white or dark grey and just a few stars on it (for better effect) or a little pillow cover in white with a lot of stars on it for better showing of the prints...
I think it is going to be the pillow (because I actually don't need any more quilts but my couch desperately needs more pillows...).
But if I were you I would pick Gill because coin purses to thank friends are just the sweetest thing ever :)
Merry Christmas, Lynne and thank you for sharing with us!

  3. oh the pressure!!

How about lady of the lake blocks in sherbet pips, with kona ash {can't really know if that would work, but I think it will} and then I would make pillows out of that, handquilted ones with white perle cotton hmmm sounds good to me.

Oh! or wonky stars, that would be great too! yes that's it I would definitely make a wonky stars, lap quilt with kona ash and the sherbet pips.

No, I've got it, really I do now. I'd make a mini quilt out of half square triangles sherbet pips. And then applique a Dachshund over it. yup that's my final answer and I'm sticking to it!

But I can't promise I will not change my mind if these land on my doorstep ;-)

  4. Goodness! I need to make a quilt for my 2-month-old babygirl (now that she is finally giving me some sewing time) that is slightly less precious (and smaller, the thing is huge!) than the quilt I made before she was born.

I'd go for half-square triangles with full square accompaniments, or if those triangles are the wrong dimensions for that (I can't tell from the photo), then I'll strip piece them. Definitely a coin-stack border, love those. Big enough for her to practice her rolling on, small enough to fit on the livingroom floor. (See above quilt, *facepalm*)

  5. Don't pick me because I have a FQ bundle of Pips winging its way to me right now, but kudos to you for having a giveaway based on merit! I'm sure it will be hard to choose. but someone will make a terrific project out of these great scraps. Would love to see what you made that resulted in said scraps!

  6. oh Lynne, I would for sure use these for my lighthouse block, or better said lighthouse mini quilt.
you know, Stash books contacted me one of these days and they want to publish my design ( you can see the block on my flickr account) in their next book
as I'm short of fabric with funny little creatures these would be perfect for my miniquilt

I have to complete the whole project as soon as possible to send them a new pic
I truly hope you will choose me

by the way, wish you already a happy xmas and also a very creative new year

    hugs

  7. Wow, how did you get hold of those! You know it will be an age until you can buy it in the UK. I am making a baby quilt after xmas- I have Kona snow ready from Mandy and I have planned the design- 9 wonky stars with extra wonk based on free cutting- I thought I might do it as a quilt-a-long on my blog although I am not sure if I will have anyone who wants to join in so it might just be me. This baby will be my friend Lucy's 3rd and a late edition. Lucy had her 1st at 19 so she thinks she is old at 30 for this one, I laugh as that is when I had my first and only. The baby girl, due Feb, will have 2 older sisters and a dog to keep her company and these prints fit her future life perfectly.- Charm squares would be star centres and I would piece the strips into mini squares together to make more star centres as well and the triangles would be the points- Binding- big moon polka dots in slate-Amy B.

  8. oh, I forgot to say that there will be some sherbet fabric fish hanging out of the quilt

and the lighthouse would have sherbet winding stripes next to a sherbet house, ;o)))

  9. Oh my gosh, that's an awesome giveaway! I adore the Pips and would love to get my hands on them! Best of all, I know just what I would do with them. The Pips remind me a lot of a doll I made for my niece last year, and I want to make her a doll quilt to go with! I was thinking a starburst kind of block, a la Ashley from Film in the Fridge, or wonky stars, sashed either with a nice light pink or clean old fashioned Kona white. Either way, I know she would adore them - she's 6. I strongly suspect she would name every one of them! :)

    ReplyDelete
  10. If you pick me i would incorporate it into pockets on dresses for the dolls i am making for Charity for 2011. I am making 100 toys for the K mart Wishing Tree for next year and i am blogging about it. Depending on the size of the scraps i could make a quilt for one of the dolls.

  11. These are special bits and after some thought, I have decided that I would design a wonky log cabin table runner or two (depending on how much fabric there is - hard to tell from the snap shot). I've have made some great pieces in this fashion - you would have to see to believe!

    ReplyDelete
  12. I saw some charm squares online on Etsy the other day but while I was faffing about deciding whether to buy they all sold out so I hope this line comes to UK stockists!

If I was lucky enough to be selected I'd make a table runner. I'd do wonky stars with the triangles as the pointy bits and the squares as the middles. I'd use the strips in between the stars - maybe to look like tails of other stars shooting in between. I'd use one of the Kona greys - maybe medium or ash. If there turned out to be enough fabric, with some extra additions from me I may make it into a lap sized quilt so I could have a seasonal quilt to cheer up my neutral decor.

  13. My bestest friend growing up had a dog, 'Beauregard' (nope, not from the south we're Canadian and that's the Quebecois coming out), just like the one in Aneela's fabric, we both knitted looooong scarves for our older brothers one year for Christmas (we could only knit, not purl, so the scarves grew to mythic proportions) aaand we had a swing in our backyard where Pam and I would swing summer afternoons away. SO I thinkin' a quilt for Pam. I'd have to see the scraps to know exactly what I could make with them but a table topper or a mob of mug rugs to be used by her family should be doable. Or maybe add a few from my meager (HAH) stash and concoct a lap quilt for her to reminise (sp?) about the good old days. Thanks for this trip down memory lane and of course the chance to win.

  14. I just got a charm pack of this from a someone mysterious. I have absolutely no clue who sent it....so normally I would enter the giveaway but I am going to leave it for someone who doesnt already have some.....but I may use this as my Fresh Modern Quilt Bee fabric if I can get more of it.....still up in the air.

  15. I know EXACTLY what I would make! I've been wanting to make a raw edge 'ticker tape' baby quilt for a while now. The raw edge technique would certainly utilize every inch of those wonderful scraps. I'm not sure about the background fabric color...probably white, but if I won I would lay the scraps out and see what looks best! What a wonderful idea for a giveaway! Thanks for the chance.

  16. My daughter will turn 13 next year. I think a small quilt to hang in her room to help her capture a little bit more of the things she is growing away from but still secretly enjoys. I'd likely do plenty of pinwheels and then applique a flower or 2. Thanks for the chance to win.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Lets see. I think I would like to make a small quilt for my yet to be born niece! That way I could have more time to finish it. I see spreading the charms out in a pattern and using the triangles to make a zigzag pattern around the squares or in the space between and using the one inch strips as a border. I think I would use white as the color on the front and search for the perfect back maybe a Minky in pink it will be for a baby. Thanks!

  18. I would make a dress for my 3-year old granddaughter for Valentine's Day (these fabrics just say valentine and little girl to me!) I'd probably use white fabric, and make it really full, with little borders of the Sherbet Pips around the bottom. You know it has to be swirly to appeal to little girls!! I think a border, and also a ruffle - those triangles would be perfect to piece into a ruffle!! Can't you just see my little blondie twirling around in Sherbet Pips? Or flying high in a swing.... Oh, now you have to pick me because I'm not going to be happy until I get to make this dress you've got stuck in my head!!!! LOL! Thanks for the chance to win some of this gorgeous fabric!!

  19. I hope this doesn't sound selfish but I am going to make some small projects for ME! I always seem to try out all the cute patterns with the great fabric only to give them away. One of my 2011 resolutions is to make myself some things. I would like a matching set of the favorite pattens I have made for everyone else but me including-a mug rug, a key fob, a coupon holder, and an id purse. Anything left over will go to make a fusy cut quilted pin or two. I havent made any pins in a long time and I love to. But again I fall into making thinks I think others would like and never really making what I would like for myself. Thanks for the giveaway!

  20. easy-peasy...doll blankets for my four nieces. Based on what I can see in the photo, each little blanket would have one charm square framed out in a kona solid on one side. I'd use a small print from another line (maybe Tanya Whelan's new line) for the rest of that side, with the one inch strips as a final border. On the other side of the doll blanket I would make pinwheels or stars with the triangle pieces. and use a kona solid or another small print. After making those four blankets, with what ever was left, I would make some more blankets to give away to friends little girls. And you can totally hold me to that!

  21. I would love tho have those scraps of sweet fabric. My best friend would love the fabrics. She and I used to teach together and take our kids (all 6) on vacations together every summer. The print reminds me how wonderfuly we get along. We don't see each other as often as we used to when we taught together, or when our kids were younger, but we have this special connection and I know she is with me every minute of every day. I would love to make a wonky stars quilt out of this fabric for her to let her know just how much I love her and think about her every day. It would be a great birthday present!!! :) Thanks for the chance to talk about someone so dear to my heart, and thanks for the chance to win. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

  22. WOOOOOOOOW, This is SO exiting... I am drooling at all the lovely fabric and fantastic ideas but I know exactly what I would make without a doubt!. My sister is getting married next year and has asked me to make her a quilt as a gift to her. I would team the triangles with triangles in pure kona white, cut the long strips into small squares for the border (perhaps alternating with white squares depending how far the fabric gos) and I'd have to keep those beautiful charm sqaures whole as im not sure I could bare to cut them and id have to make myself a little something with these to make parting with the finished quilt a little easier!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Funny you should mention birthday's. I have two special quilts I am making this year; one is for my about to turn 6 yr old niece and one is a wedding quilt.

I think these sweeten up the birthday quilt I have in my head. I have been hooked on making trees lately (you can see my christmas tree runner on my blog that started it all). I want to make a whole girly tree forest lined up horizontally using those one inch strips - pink and blue and red trees oh my! I'm thinking of a lap quilt size.

I would add some green bits to make the forest floor, use some of the squares for tree trunks, and a bright cheery blue for a nice big sky behind the trees. And what inhabits a cheery Sherbet Pips forest? -- well of course sherbet bunnies, birds, and flowers! Yes, I see those triangles turning into wee animals and tulips!

My niece is so playful and fun with a wild imagination! With her May birthday this quilt would become the center of tea parties, a seat when picking flowers in the grass, and I can see her reading a ton of books cuddled up in it!

Thank you for the chance to tell you about this design and for such a fantastic way to start 2011 (creating with Sherbet Pibs for a little girl I love deeply!) Hope you enjoy lots of laughs and specifal moments over the holiday season!

  24. I am expecting my first baby in June. I want to make a special quilt. These cute little running puppy dogs and tree swings are so sweet.

  25. I knew as soon as I saw this post what I'd make. I'd use the confetti block style from Lady Harvatine's blog. So all these litte cuties would be sprinkled around with some solid color surrounding them. I'd have to see the fabrics to know for sure what color the sashing would be. There'd likely be a bit of red hand quilting, and it would become a doll-quilt or smallish quilt of some kind. I also think I know what I'd do with the finished thingie, but that's a secret! Disclaimer: I've been known to change my mind, so if I decided to make something else with, would you make me send them back?

  26. I LOVE these gorgeous fabrics and how playful, and wintery, they are! I would make a quilt for my little sister and a smaller one for her favorite stuffed animal beary, so that they match. The goal would be to make a "sisterly" quilt, so that she'll think of me when she looks at it (like, those two girls swinging on the front charm square). She's my best friend and I would want to make her something extra special. I would pair the triangles with some Kona white and put those next to the charm squares, and then place the strips next to the two to make a row (and add more on, of course). I would alternate this pattern for the whole quilt, with whole Kona white charm squares interspersed. Thank you so much for the chance to win!

  27. I LOVE the way you are doing it!! This ensures it goes to the right person! Unfortunately that won't be me (snif...) as I wouldn't have a clue beforehand!! I am the sort of person who gets the fabric, puts it on display around the room, lets it sink into my subconsciousness and meanwhile read in mags and books and see pictures etc, all without looking specifically for a pattern for the pips. Then, all of a sudden, (and that might be next day or months away!) I suddenly wake up in the middle of the night and sit up in bed with... "THE idea!!" and know EXACTLY what I am going to do!! But I couldn't tell you right now... gotta feel the fabric, see on all the pieces where the images are just right or not...etc... I'm a hands on girl! But am loving reading all the ideas! Great giveaway!

  28. We are moving home on 6th January, and my 4 year old twin girls have been so good since the summer; with keeping the house in 'show home' condition through to currently spending Christmas with most of their toys already packed; so I would definitely make them a little Thank You pillow each for their new room. Thank you for the chance of making a pair of super-cute pressies. Merry Christmas x

  29. I would love to win this and make a small circular table topper for a glass top table...under the glass you see the frame that the glass top sits on so I want to put the topper between the frame and the glass top so what you will see then is the beautiful topper instead of that frame...these fabrics would be perfect....thank you for a fun
    giveaway...Merry Christmas...

  30. How exciting! You're so lucky to have been playing with these already! If I was lucky enough to win I'd make a large lap quilt for me and my daughter to snuggle up under when she's having a rough day (there are too many of these sadly!). I'd do pin wheels with White kona as a frame for a girl on a swing inspired centre-piece then use the strips to piece a border. If I don't win I guess I'll just have to wait until April :-) happy Christmas to you and yours x

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ok, I would have to see the pieces to know for sure exactly what would work, right? I won some scraps from Cherri House awhile ago and designed a quilt around them, I might like to do the same with these. I have been debating purchasing some online (yes, I found some) but wanted to have the perfect project for them. I have several ideas in my head. I think a baby quilt for a friend who's baby was premature and born with a heart defect might be one lucky recepeint, or maybe a cute little jacket for my dog? It's difficult to say without seeing them exactly. Whoever you choose will be the right one. Have a very Merry Christmas and I look forward to your creativity in the new year too!!

  32. I would love to win these... they look beautiful.

I think I'd make them into a quilt for the cabin. They'd be great with some added white (and maybe some blue or pink) to make a lap sized quilt for hanging out on cool days at the cabin. Since there are lots of triangles in the pile, I think some stars would be great... and probably some great borders to get it the right size...

  33. Looks perfect for scrappy pillows for my 3 granddaughters.

    Thanks,

    Billie

    ReplyDelete
  34. I know everyone is saying pillows... but I think that with my daughter moving to her big girl bed soon, that a pretty little quilted pillow is in order. I can't think of a fabric line better for her since she loves those little doggies and spends hours a day across the street at the park on the swings. It'd surely be perfect for her room, and with all my holiday sewing I have barely sewn up anything for her. She just loves on everyone else's stuff before I give it away.

    ReplyDelete
  35. (ps - those scraps are perfect for me too, since I love to work primarily with tiny strips and pieces.)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Let's see....

Choice A: take a 5" square and raw appliqué it to a white background. Then use the triangles and raw appliqué those around the square, forming a wonky star. After a few of those, use the rectangular strips as raw appliqué sashing. Essentially, you are making a wonky star without wasting any of the fabric in a seam!

Choice B: Cover all the scraps in modge podge and stick them to my naked body then parade around work as if i'm not bothered by the stares of confounded coworkers or the drooling of quilty coworkers following close behind.

I know, tough decision. I'll have to make a pros/cons list and see how it all pans out.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I have a lovely pillow pattern that features items hanging on a clothesline and these would be perfect. A tiny quilt hanging on it.I can see the puppy in the yard already. Thanks so much for the chance!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I would make as many mug rugs as possible from the scraps, keep one for myself and give the remainder away on my blog to spread some more 'Pips' happiness.

  39. Looks like a mini union jack type cushion/book bag just waiting to happen to me.... xx

  40. You're hilarious, Lynne. Thanks for sharing these coveted scraps!! I have a super secret project that I need to make as soon as the holidays are over. The recipient of said super secret project may be reading your comments, so I'm going to revert to our secret code to describe it, so that only you and I are 'in the know', kay?

Here goes: ao;seiruq0w4975alsidytao;ie aoisdut as;lidypaoeri wonky stars a0897alfnkv itu a8w4 of9a8ert kbniod a background sditu va;riug;lfbno8rtusk slivboasirh o;sifygoirt bifyio;ase4yr for binding. Got it?

Safe to say your Sherbet Pips scraps will be shared and treasured. And you'd really get me out of a swap pickle in a hurry because my speedy swap partner has already posted pix of the DQ she's made me! Aaaah, the pressure! Oh, and another thing, she isn't one of the SUPER LUCKY bloggers who received a Sherbet Pips advance stack (ahem - like some people we know) so I know she would flip out. And if there's one thing I like to do, it's encourage as much flipping out as possible. Won't you help me?

  41. Oh, and if you can't pick me, then you'd better pick Duff because I would really like to see photos of her Choice B.

  42. I love my composition notebooks - I have them for work - I have them for quilting - I have them for my son's school notes - I have them for volunteer work - I have them for everything.

And I like them to be covered.

I think these bits and pieces would work nicely stitched to a flannel foundation to build a nice yummy cover for my newest book - logging my attempts at starting next year's garden indoors.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Ok, I managed to make a decision. So here's what's gonna happen with them: do you know my TDF quilt? the one with floating squares? Well, this one is going to have just as much vibration. the random squares in squares will have a lot of depth and the 'center' pieces will be, of course, your pieces (no, it will not be centered)

I'mm telling you, it's going to be really cool :D

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm gonna be a little bit selfish so it will be a cover cushion for me (or a mini quilt depending on scraps). I will follow String-X or Maverick Stars pattern sashed with kona white or Ash, I'm not decided yet.
Thanks for this chance to win :D

  45. This is easy because I already know what I want to do with some of comfortstitching's adorable fabric!
I want to make 3 mug rugs for 2 sisters and my niece.
I will use a gray linen base. One will have a stacked coin design using the 1" strips cut into 2" wide pieces, with a charm square at one side to showcase the adorable patterns. One will have a random patchwork crazy quilt style design with lots of decorative stitches, and the 3rd will have a triangle banner border framing an embroidered pattern (the girl in the tree swing).

  46. This would be one special project! So I would take my time and probably, selfishly, want to keep it for myself. I would use white or maybe light grey, linen to embroider some of Aneela's designs (Cherry on a swing, Scoot, Skipping Girl, Belle, and the bike of course!) I would then use the Sherbet Pips scraps to make Chubby Star design. (This is based on a large square - the embroidery- bordered on 8 corners with triangles and sashed in chunky strips; seen here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bubbles-135/5233704196/)
There may be enough to make one, or even better, two doll quilts. DQS10???
Taking a second look at your pile of fabric makes me think I could still have some fabric left over. Then I would use the squares to make the Girl on a Swing mini quilt (Background of squares with stitchery on the top).
(Lynne-Don't think there would be enough to foundation piece with it! Could NOT bear the waste!) Suz

  47. Wow Lynne, that's a great give away, but don't pick me as I am already the proud owner of a set of fat quarters of Sherbet Pips and I still haven't decided what I want to make with them. I just like looking at and playing with them! I am getting some great ideas though from all the comments here, I especially love Duff's choice B, now that is creative!

  48. I would pair these beauties up with some Kona Ash and make a vertical wonky stars wall hanging with a strip border for Spring. 49. I'd use the Charm squares together with a pips charm pack I just found on etsy (!!!) to make a quilt. The center would be a simple grid with a Kona white (snow maybe?) sashing between each square to really show off the fabric. Then I'd create a border using the same white with the triangle pieces appliqued on in a random scatter. I'd do some custom FMQ in the sashing and blocks. I'd use the small strips and piece it together with a coordinated gray kona solid for a scrappy binding. A perfect wintertime lap quilt for me and my family. :)

  50. What better than to use precious fabric to make a quilt for my precious daughter?! She was quite upset that a quilted baby blanket I've just finished isn't for her and her fave blankie is getting very tatty so I need to make something for her.
How exciting and challenging to design a quilt just for her! With all those triangles I'm thinking sun/stars, maybe pinwheels. I'm determined to make the most out of the fabric and not sure whether the charm squares will stay whole or fussy cut but the quilt will need to have a lot of white Kona. There needs to be movement for the swing and the dog running round. I can't get 'drip drip drop little April showers' out of my head - those square dots will be useful; oh, and strips around the border for the scarves in the collection.
Sorry it still sounds quite vague, but the ideas are whizzing round my head and I just know it could be fantastic :)
Thanks for the chance to win and a fun evening planning what to make!

  51. I'm going to make mug rugs - at least two of them. More if there is enough fabric. (It's hard to tell. I am going to make little scenes of swinging girls and happy dogs, and these will be bordered by the geometric fabrics. They will be super cute mugrugs and I might have to keep them all for myself.

  53. I knew right away what I would do. My daughter is in college - lives in the basement of my sisters house and commutes. I would love to make her a cherry banner for Valentines Day to show her some love love love - A cute banner and use some dark grey Kona solid to make the pinks pop. Applique some red hearts too and maybe a little embroidered dachshund in black(her dog at home) It would brighten her basement (oops -she calls it the "lower level") Plus her nickname (from her brothers)is Pip- this would be perfect for our swinging Pip- a swinging banner! - Thanks and happy holidays. Pip - Pip hurrah for the giveaway!

  54. I am going to make my Little (Big-6ft 1 tall) sister a round patchwork cushion, the girl on the swing reminds me of her,she had a bad year this year (her dog had to be found a new home) It's her birthday on the 21st Jan. She likes a comfy cushion to put behind her back as it often aches with her being taller. Thank You x

  55. Now then Lynne what did you make with the rest of the fabric? Where are the photos? We'd love to see them. :) How generous of you to want to share them too. If I should find the Pips in my mail I confess I wouldn't make anything with them! Shocking I know! I'd give them to Correne to make the lap quilt for her and my precious grand daughter to snuggle under. On condition that they scooched over and let me under too. If they were having a bad day, I would be too. A very Happy Christmas to you and yours Lynne and all good things for 2011 too. x

  56. I know what I would make, as I thought about it before when I commented on another Pips giveaway. Matching (but scrappy) winter scarves for my Sister, her 2 yr old daughter and me! I say winter as I thought I would back the scarves with a pale blue fleece. If there was enough, maybe a hat for my niece too!

  57. I've been wanting to work with red and aqua forever so here's what I'd do... I am a children's librarian and we have just been given 2 new sewing machines in the library. We have a very successful American Girl club and I have been testing lots of simple patterns that I can use with the kids in my library to teach them how to sew. I've found a cute patchwork skirt pattern and a doll quilt pattern that I'd like to use the fabric with. The samples will be used to show the kids what the finished project will look like and then they used as prizes in a reading raffle... after all, I've got to keep them reading! ( the skirt pattern can be found at:youcanmakethis.com and the doll quilt pattern is at: http://blog.craftzine.com/ search for cardboard doll furniture)

  58. I am going to make the most of these pieces by showcasing them against a backdrop of solids - grey, red, white (aqua may be difficult to match). That way the Pips will standout. Because of the fabrics sizes, there will be themed block for each cut of scraps. I will make flying geese (have to figure out the triangle sizes) for one block. So, the strips will go in another, and the charms can make the 3rd/4th.
I will make this into a decorative table runner for the dining table. We use it for company (we have an island for family meals) and think the Pips will look great against the darker pine woods. Plus, everyone can admire it as the table is where anyone visiting can see it. For the backing, will use a few pieces of pips as if they were photos - framing them with "mats" of the grey, red, white (maybe aqua). Summary - a revesible table runner with a 4-patch block pattern where each block tells a story...and the back like triple matted photos. Quilting will most likely be straight lined (avoiding the Pips) perhaps with some black thread painting to add to the story. Without seeing all the fabs, is difficult to determine the stories. My mother will love this because it will go with our "colors" in that room. Plus, my late father always said - any color so long as it is red - and aqua is my mother's favorite color. So grey, red, white, aqua, and lovely pips will be AWESOME!

  60. I would love to start making a baby quilt out of this fabric! I am not even pregnant yet but I can't imagine a more perfect fabric for a babies quilt than this! Hopefully it is a girl!
