I'll always remember that occasion...

That is the starting line of the royal song which I promised you a couple of posts ago.  More later in this post after a peek at the block I made for Anna whose month it is in "Ringo Pie", a bee I joined in the summer where we make blocks to a certain theme.  Anna chose desserts this month and I settled on cake.  Everyone loves cake, especially a cake which is full of all sorts of weird random ingredients, a bit like the colourful cakes our mum used to make for us when we were little which she filled with exciting mixtures of food colouring, turning a plain old sponge into something quite unexpected.
November Ringo Pie block for Anna
Anyway, enough of cake, here is the song which one of the three of us (my two sisters or I) made up back in the 1970s although there are arguments between us as to which one it was.  So, to the tune of "how much is that doggy in the window?" ...

I'll always remember that occasion,
When Captain Mark Phillips and Anne,
Got married at the Royal Wedding,
I'll always remembrit if I can."

Underwhelmed?

  4. Wow, that's a gorgeus cake. It's always such a mistery for me how someone can put so many different fabrics and still make it look great, fresh, modern. Beautifull!
