Some new blocks

It's been a bit of a go slow round here with summer holidays, four kids at home and a dodgy finger (which is mending fast) but I have managed to make a few blocks, well three.
I've added one more hexagon star to the meagre pile of six.  They're made from Tanya Whelan's dolce from Saints & Pinners.

Then I made two blocks for Amber who is making a quilt for her sister in law.  Which sounds OK until you get the link to her SIL's website and it turns out she's some uber cool Hawaiin guitar musician, young and hip and fabulous.  And I'm a middle aged housewife who wears smart jeans and a nice jumper from Marks & Spencers and likes an early night and a nice cup of tea.  So a little bit intimidating but here they are anyway.
The second one was made using Victoria Bumble Beans waverunner tutorial which is a lot of fun.  The patterned fabric on the right is a Prints Charming print which I can't seem to find online so, if anyone has some unwanted in their stash and would like to sell it or sees some in their LQS please let me know.  I totally fell in love with it and was tempted not to make the second block just so I could keep it - well I'm kidding of course - but I wish I had.  Still kidding(ish).

  1. You might get some directly from them on their website (http://www.printscharming.com.au/) but I don't remember seeing that print in that colourway. Worth an email at least...

  9. I love all your blocks especially the 'funky' ones! And, amazingly, I think I might have some of that fabric but it might be in a slightly different colourway. As you know I never know what they are called/who made them but I bought it in New York last year and I am sure I have enough to share with you - I will dig it out and take a photo and email it to you. If you want some we could do a swap!

  12. Those hexagon stars are coming along nicely, unlike my diamond which are abandoned for more (far easier) hexies!
Ps "And I'm a middle aged housewife ...", you really crack me up! Off to make a nice cup of tea myself.
