Oh! I am so sorry for you and I really hope you get better soon! The exact same thing happened to me before new year's eve and it's really annoying. I had to get a quilt quilted in time for the new year and this made it a bit more complicated :) Just rest and read some magazines :)
Big waves of sympathy floating from cloudy Devon- can you feel them?. I saw someone in one of my flickr groups who had taken off the tip of her finger with rotary- the pic still haunts. I bought a gypsy grip off ebay as a result. I once sewed through my finger on the machine, tip of needle broke off inside. Luckily in a&e the dr was a crafter and dextrous- she got it out. I live in fear, I can be clumsy! Hope it repairs fast x
oh no! I had an accident with my rotary cutter a couple weeks ago, I'm feeling your pain! Did you need stitches? @ Kerry that is my biggest fear, sewing through my finger ouch ouch ouch!
that happened to me last week, i cut my pinky while cutting strips for boyfriend's zelda quilt =( i guess we should really learn to be careful around the rotary cutters.
No cutting off of fingers allowed! Didn't anyone ever tell you it's dangerous to slice into your finger with a rotary cutter? ;)
But seriously, I can't believe that this or a similar accident (sewing through my finger or something) hasn't happened to me yet. I've had WAY too many close calls.
Oh no! Hope it heals very quickly! This is the second rotary cutter injury I've seen in the last couple of weeks. I've always been wary of using one now even more so! x
Ouch! I have done this too. So very sorry. Hope it heals quickly. I have a lovely scar to remind me from now on to be a lot more careful. I prefer to think of it a quilting badge of honor :/
some sympathy coming up!!! is the cutter next to your finger any indication of what happened? that's the impression i got, but i'm hoping to be wrong. man, that must have hurt! get better soon! your sewing machine is waiting for you!
oh no. lots of sympathy coming your way. a friend of mine who teaches craft workshops just told me the other week that she can't use rotary cutters anymore because the workshop crafters always cut themselves and one almost cut off her thumb. sorry it happened to you too.
(Sharp intake of breath!) Oh no! That looks bad! Hope it's not causing too much pain OR disruption. Take good care, hope it heals quickly. Quilty hugs :)
Hi Lynne, that looks positively nasty and it makes me feel ill just looking at the photo...you have however done an excellent job with the dressing and I am thoroughly impressed! Take care and hope it heals quickly Amelie
Gasp! You're lucky you didn't lose a finger if this happened at the mercy of your rotary cutter. Those suckers are SHARP! They're definitely my go-to weapon in the event of an intruder.
oh my goodness Lynne!! What happened? Please tell me you didn't try to lobb off your finger with your rotary cutter? Well wishes for a speedy recovery!
OMG hope you recover quickly and can get back on the rotary wheel soooooon. Cutters are so dangerous, razor blades on a wheel is what I tell people. A cut is easily done. Take care.
Looks nasty, did you have to go to hospital? When you said about it before I was imagining a small nick not finger loss!
