1. BREAKING NEWS - the yellow line has been discontinued and replaced with the fabric below (refer to post below if you're not sure what's going on here). Is that going to be OK? Do we still have to consider a replacement?
2. Luckily, this guide to the fabrics was enclosed with them and it links to the instructions in the book which means nothing will go wrong.
3. For clarification, jm, I am making the quilt for my mum although she may allow me to carry it around with me when I visit her.
4.And finally a question for all you fabric junkies out there, many of whom travelled all the way over here to the UK from Rae Ann's stash manicure earlier this week. If you had the choice (which you don't) would you prefer a whole year's supply of chocolate or a date with George Clooney or the contents of the photo below (which for clarification jm is not mine to keep forever, only to play with for as long as it takes me to make the quilt...which may be some time...):

Well obviously the chocolate. Do all quilters dribble? There seems to be a lot of mouth watering going on in quilt blogs. Maybe that's how you recognise quilters. We have a lot in Paris in that case.
ReplyDeleteIf I give you a year's supply of chocolate, will you give me that fabric?
ReplyDeletefabric...
ReplyDeleteI don't like chocolate.. (i know?! I am the only quilter that eats sugar free coffee/caramel drops)
I'm too old for George...unless it's THE GEORGE! you know the quilting machine...lol
I'm sorry I stopped reading when I saw that gorgeous fabric. Fabric always comes first!
ReplyDeleteFabric for sure! I need fabric! I have an itty bitty stash...lol
ReplyDeleteWell, The year's supply of chocolate would just bring my big bottom back after an 18 month struggle to work it off, my sweetie wouldn't appreciate me spending an evening with George (a man HE would probably date if given the chance!), so I guess fabric it is! (Unless you have any Johnny Depp connections, then I'll take door #2!)
ReplyDeleteHas Mum commented yet?
Doris, Shelley just had a quick check with Johnny and he can do Friday week if you can make that but I don't know whether you can get out without your sweetie getting suspicious. Let me know.
ReplyDeleteAnd Nancy, have you compared your Wii fit age with George's Wii fit age. You never know, it may turn out that he's older than you in those terms.
ReplyDeleteYep, love the orange for a replacement. :)
ReplyDeleteI see, I see!! :) Knowing it is for your mum, then go with a replacement and wallow in the fabs while you can! LOL!!
I am totally sugar-free (not by choice) and not so much into "stars" so GIVE ME THE FABRICS!!! ;)
If the chocolate was a good, smooth but dark dark chocolate (heck, I might even go for Hershey's Special Dark), I'd be tied...those fabrics do look fun, but my husband has imposed a fabric buying ban...if the fabrics were free I would totally take them. George Clooney is totally overrated.
ReplyDeleteNo contest there! It's the fabric by a mile.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, that replacement is totally beautiful.
Dark dark chocolate, of course! (YOU DID ASK....) George is nice to look at, but can't compete with my hubby. And Kaffe fabrics are nice to look at, but I'll take William Morris any day. Sorry, Traditional Quilter entered the room. Please don't throw me out! I really do enjoy looking around!
ReplyDeleteI love the orange fabric. I wouldn't need anything else.
ReplyDeleteChocs, george, fabric. Hmmm, really really difficult. I think it would have to be the chocolate, especially if its from hotel chocolat! yummmmmmmm.
Mmmmm. Fabric. The buzz lasts much longer than for chocolate or handsome men.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for the misunderstanding Lynne and Doris. Johnny said that he would love to meet ME next week Friday, and he's a one-woman kind of a guy, so I guess that leaves Doris out ;)
ReplyDeleteJohnny does sort of trump the fabric for me, if only just a little... heehee
Let's see... I have an awesome hubby and I don't care for chocolate, so I'll pick the fabric!
ReplyDeleteJenifer :)
Lovely lovely colors. How could this not make the most fantastic quilt.
ReplyDeleteIt's a no brainer... Fabric... always the fabric. Men are handy (sometimes) - wink - and chocolate melts but fabric just hangs around waiting to be stroked and 'ooohed' over... It's patient, doesn't cringe when you say 'do I look fat in this?' and never wants to be fed. Yep, fabric wins....
ReplyDeleteCheryl :)
I probably should add... my sweet hubby wins over George any day :)
ReplyDeleteMmmmmmm decisions, decisions, decisions, alright then twist my arm, the fabbie of course.
ReplyDeleteChocolate will be eaten and gone forever, George, well he is kinda cute, but...., give me the fabric anytime. What I could make with that bundle would be everlasting and priceless. Yep the fabbie wins it for me. Happy Stitching.
What makes me laugh about this whole debate is that it really came down to a choice between the chocolate and the fabric - poor George didn't really get a look-in!
