So it's my turn in the Make It Take It book tour and giveaway. The rest of the dates are listed at the bottom of the post. This book was put together by my friend Krista Hennebury from Poppyprint and she has gathered together a whole bunch of contributors to talk about retreats and to create projects to make at retreats or to help bring your stuff to retreats etc. It's filled with lots of lovely stories from the contributors about their experiences of retreats and lots of advice from Krista on creating wonderful quilting retreats.
Friday, April 3 Blog hop kick-off: Poppyprint
Monday, April 6: Berene at Happy Sew Lucky and Amy at During Quiet Time
Tuesday, April 7: Leanne at She Can Quilt and Felicity at Felicity Quilts
Wednesday, April 8: Martingale Inc. at Stitch this!
Thursday, April 9: Krista at Spotted Stones and Krista at Krista Withers Quilting
Friday, April 10: Lynne at Lilys Quilts and Cindy at Live a Colorful Life
Saturday, April 11: Ayumi at Pink Penguin and Krista at Poppyprint
Sunday, April 12: Kristie at OCD: Obsessive Crafting Disorder and Christina at Sometimes Crafter
My parts in the book were (i) to talk about my experiences at the Fat Quarterly London quilting retreats and (ii) to provide a project which could be done over a weekend retreat. So I decided on a quick, large scale lone star without too many pieces. Made with Oakshott Liparis and a text print, the quilt is called Lone Star Circle for obvious reasons. And here it is with Krista on her tour of the Northern Territories of Canada.
I have to say, as much as I love the original of this quilt (which is going to my accountant on its return, as a thank you for saving me from the purgatory that is my tax return), I think I love the mini Krista made from the pattern even more.
If you'd like a chance to win a digital copy of this book, please leave a comment on this post and one winner will be picked a week from today.
