I have made more union jack quilts than I can remember. Since I was going to be teaching a union jack pillow at my local quilt shop Quiltessential recently, it occurred to me I ought to prepare some class samples for the steps along the way.
I made the first sample from a couple of Acacia fat quarters ...
... then made a couple more and before I knew it ...
... I'd made fifteen and had yet another union jack quilt top ...

Which is now in the midst of being quilted and will then have its fate decided - keep, sell or give to Siblings Together?
I really like your quilt...I so want to get one put together one day
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt!! I want to make one, too. Someday...
ReplyDeleteWell my selfless side says give it to Siblings Together as it is a seriously cool quilt. Then reality takes over and I say give it to me.
ReplyDeleteI would think a cool teen would love that quilt.
ReplyDeleteSO fun!
ReplyDeleteSo fun.
ReplyDeleteI am new to blogging, but not to quilting. I love your Union Jack quilts in all the funky colors. Even here in America, those would be cool to make. Have never actually found a quilt store when I have been in the UK. Perhaps I will on my next trip.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quilt! My niece has recently joined a GB squad with a view to competing in the next Olympics and this would be a great quilt for her. I will have to look at your classes!
ReplyDeleteAnd meanwhile, do you still need class samples? Great quilt. Love the fabrics used.
ReplyDeleteI love this!! The way you have combined the colours makes them really sing
ReplyDeleteWe could add another month, or make the last month a 'double bubble' (for people with the time) in the STQB and work from our own stash to make a random, scrappy version?
ReplyDeleteLol so, those class samples, what's happening with them? ;o)
ReplyDeleteHave to make a Union Jack quilt one day now I see this, it's lovely!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteLast night, I was browsing through the Restoration Hardware Furniture catalog and saw a room beautifully decorated with a set of four large framed flags, including the Union Jack, US flag, Canadian flag and Norwegian flag. I never get tired of seeing the Union Jack. Check this out---> http://www.restorationhardware.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod690364&categoryId=search
ReplyDeleteLove it! I've always wanted to do a Union Jack quilt! And your colors are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI love this!! I really should stop looking and actually make one for myself one day.
