1st May. Mayday. The day when people in England dance around maypoles wearing bells on their socks. My focus during the last few days of April has been to work on my Siblings Together quilt tops.
I've decided this year to go for quantity rather than quality. OK I phrased that wrong. I mean quicker and simpler and more rather than fussier and fiddlier and slower so fewer.
In short, simpler quilts which are quicker to make and so I can give more of them to this fantastic charity which brings together kids who are separated by the care system. Read this earlier post to find out more and possibly join in! So I've made three and they are all ready to be quilted.
And link up in the second linky if you are a blog with fewer than 50 followers and would like to get to know a few more people out there in blogland. Write a post about this feature, add this button and then link up.
Next go and visit and get to know at least four other linked blogs - starting with the two above you in the linkys and the two below you. Visit those blogs, leave a comment, click to follow and visit that blog regularly over the next few weeks. Visit more if you have the time. And also visit back any new bloggers who come to visit you and get to know them and their blogs.

What about you? What have you worked on this month? Any finishes? Maybe a mosaic of everything you've been doing? One favourite thing? Link up at the bottom of this post to share what you've been working on. If you do link up, how about visiting at least four of the other blogs who link up - two above you and two below you - and stopping to leave a comment as well as visiting back anyone who visits you. As always here's the button to grab.

Great work on the ST quilts, top of the class Lynne, you're the original over-achiever!!!
ReplyDeletebeautiful patchwork, i especially like the colors in that first one!
ReplyDeleteI love maypoles! Don't really get them here anymore but I have nice memories from school :)
ReplyDeleteGreat patchwork quilts and I like your strategy!
We danced round the maypole! Do school kids still do that? I really like your idea of more and simpler!
ReplyDeleteEvery year on May 1, my mom would say, "Hurray! Hurray! It's the first of May! Outdoor screwing starts today!"
ReplyDeleteYeah. Mom had an unorthodox parenting style....
Here in London they just go on a demonstration and cause diversions, minus the Maypoles and bells!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your Siblings quilts, nearly finished mine, just the binding to finish!
Agreed!!! Less fuss, more quilts!!!
ReplyDeleteYou really whipped those up quickly! I think the basic square block quilt is a classic - less is more! The kids will surely love them:)
ReplyDeleteSorry, lost my train of thought at 'outdoor screwing'!!!! x
ReplyDeleteGreat plan for the quilts - outdoor screwing?!
ReplyDeleteLove the ST quilts!
ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased to link up as I've just started my Jack Attack quilt! Great job on the Siblings quilts :o)
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting my favourite monthly linky party :) I'm a little late this time as got some distracting news. But as always it is a nice way to see what everyone else has been up to and reassure myself that I have been productive (no outdoor screwing though! LOL).
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting the Small Blog Meet - it's a great idea. It's a shame that some people sign up for it when they have hundreds of followers.
