News at Backstitch

Brand new in stock at Backstitch are the Timeless Treasures sketch fabrics.  Sweeping the modern quilting community as the new solid-with-texture, these semi solids are, for my money, the best background fabric out there right now.  I am using the charcoal for the background in my summer EPP project.  Although they look like a solid in this photo, they have a lovely sketch pattern when seen in person.

Alice has got a range of 13 colours in stock including this one, called "pool":

And this one called Tangerine:

If you're going to Festival of Quilts, look out for Alice on stand G6 and keep an eye on her blog for a discount voucher for purchases made at the FoQ.

  1. I love Sketch. I am stocking it in nearly every colour. Makes the most fantastic backgrounds and fillers.

  6. I love these semi-solids, too. They are like getting the advantages of a solid with a little texture for interest. These sketch fabrics remind me of one of my favorites, Robert Kaufman's "Quilter's Linen"--cotton fabric with a linen texture printed on it. Hopefully, they don't bleed like the "Quilter's Linen".

  11. I love sketch too & have lots of colors - many used in my most recent finish! I've mostly used them in small bits, but love the use of your charcoal as a background!
