Fresh Sewing Day and Small Blog Meet

It is August.  Summer in the UK.  It has been hot and sunny for a couple of weeks which has been wonderful.  I've been EPPing in the garden - perfect summer sewing projects.  But today's news is that the new issue of Fat Quarterly, Sew Britannia, is available to buy.  There are loads of wonderful patterns in this issue and all for just the price of one pattern.  Here are pictures of a few of the projects you can make from this issue.  Brioni's Keep Calm quilt.

My Jumping Jacks Quilt.

Laura's Royal Crown pillow (and many more wonderful projects besides).

What about you?  What have you worked on this month?  Any finishes?  Maybe a mosaic of everything you've been doing?  One favourite thing?  Link up at the bottom of this post to share what you've been working on. If you do link up, how about visiting at least four of the other blogs who link up - two above you and two below you - and stopping to leave a comment as well as visiting back anyone who visits you. As always here's the button to grab:

Lily's Quilts
<div align="center"><a href="http://lilysquilts.blogspot.com/" title="Lily's Quilts"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7067/6941768177_69cfa10c8f_m.jpg" alt="Lily's Quilts" style="border:none;" /></a></div>

And link up in the second linky if you are a blog with fewer than 50 followers and would like to get to know a few more people out there in blogland. Write a post about this feature, add this button and then link up.

Next go and visit and get to know at least four other linked blogs - starting with the two above you in the linkys and the two below you. Visit those blogs, leave a comment, click to follow and visit that blog regularly over the next few weeks. Visit more if you have the time. And also visit back any new bloggers who come to visit you and get to know them and their blogs.

  9. Loving all the Brit Pride stuff around at the moment. I know a lot of nations hate us Brits - so it always amuses me when I see they want our flag and 'keep calm' slogan on their stuff :-)

  13. Hello!

I bought the FQly issue for your Jumping Jacks pattern. I've gone to the Flikr group and I have a question for you. It looks as if, on the paper pieced portions of the block, that one of the quarter inch lines is bigger than the other. Is that correct? I have printed out the paper-pieced portion of the block and it appears to be the same size (I'm talking about the lines on each side of the diagonal center line). What's up with the Flickr pics?

    Thanks and cheery wave from
    Bev

    1. Bev you're a no reply comment blogger so I can't reply directly to your comment but can you email me with a link to the flickr pic that looks as though the lines are different sizes on the diagonal because it must be a trick of the image - on the Jumping Jacks quilt, they are the sam width each side.
