Whatever happened to the Dead Simple Quiltalong?

In case you were wondering why the DSQAL went a bit quiet, I am afraid that the dog ate my homework or rather than British postal system swallowed up my bundle.  Peg and Becca from Sew Fresh Fabrics put together a bundle for me based on a palette I chose, mailed it to me and then it made a detour via the Bermuda triangle and Peg, Becca and I have been tearing our hair out waiting for it to arrive.

Finally, we declared it missing, presumed lost, last week and a back up bundle has been assembled and dispatched by Peg and Becca and, as soon as that bundle arrives, we will kick back into gear and assemble our quilt tops.  In the meantime, Peg and Becca just couldn't wait and whipped up this Dead Simple Palette Quilt.  Made from a terrain charm pack and solids picked from their shop to co-ordinate with terrain, this was the kind of thing that drew me to them in the first place.  They take lines of fabrics and make up bundles of co-ordinating solids, like this wonderful mix of a FQ bundle of Little Apples with co-ordinating solids - now there's a palette quilt all ready to go.

So please bear with me and, as soon as either the original or the replacement bundle turns up (probably both on the same day), we will kick straight back into action and get those quilt tops assembled.

  1. Oh no , someone must have taken a fancy to it- very naughty! Unless it's got stage fright and is cowering in a sack somewhere refusing to come and out and meet its public! Hope one of them turns up soon - probably when you're in the shower or out! Peg and Becca's quilt is beautiful and would look lovely on my settee!!

  2. Oh so sorry it went missing, not nice for either of you, the seller or the purchaser.....I love Peg and Becca's quilt.....and to be perfectly honest I was too busy to get going on my dead simple quilt last month :)

  4. Oh no, that's awful. I hope you get your fabric soon with no mishhaps. However, this has allowed me more dithering time trying to narrow down my fabric choices. I'm looking forward to getting started. I absolutely love the Penguin books quilt you did, by the way.

  7. how frustrating for all of you, fingers crossed you fabric arrives pronto. Mine has only just arrived on Friday - all solids but more and more, especially after seeing Peg and Becca's quilt I really fancy adding some pattern.

  8. That is always a worry for me as well. I have had packages take more than a month to arrive. It will probably show up just as you are finishing your quilt!

  9. I expect the adventures the fabric is having are making it reluctant to hurry home. I have had the opposite experience with Sew Fresh Fabric, their packages come to me in record speed, always at least a week earlier than I expect them in Canada. their quilt is lovely too.

  10. More time for me to choose mine! I mean that's really awful, having your fabric run off willy-nilly not even telling you where its gone. How rude!

  11. Customs folk must have pulled your bundle. The folk in the post office tell me that since the recession customs pick random parcels and put a charge on them, like baggage search at the airport.... It ends up meaning that the parcel takes about 3 or 4 weeks longer than it should've. Hope it does turn up, without a charge!!

  13. I fear having a package get lost! I wonder where yours went? Maybe it went on vacation? When I sent Xmas cards to family in Japan, my card took six months to arrive!! That's because it got sent to Mexico instead! o.O Don't know how that happened but the post office was apologetic.

  23. Peg and Becca's quilt looks great. I love the idea of just using one charm pack and mixing it with a bunch of solids. I'd love to see a quilt in the Little Apple's bundle you've got pictured.

  25. I think the posties have all taken up quilting. I'm missing two packages as well and I'm wondering if my mailman is working out his 1/4" seam allowance on his time off.

  26. Oh how terrible! Hope your other fabric comes in soon! I have to admit I kind of needed a little extra time to gather my palette so now I won't be behind anymore. Looking forward to this!
