A mug rug, a charm square and a self portrait

Seeing as everyone else in the whole of quiltblogland has made mug rugs, I thought it was high time I made one for myself.  Nice safe spot for the mug and a little play area for a couple of cookies or three.
I have also been whiling away my time choosing a charm square for Kendra who is hoping to adopt a baby girl later this year and is making a quilt with charm squares from 100 quilters.  You have to add a card explaining what you wish for the little girl and I made this (which was inspired by this post and the photo in this post of Aneela's daughter scooting past the kitchen window without a care in the world):

And finally here are some pics of me showing off my new cardigan which I bought in the supermarket when I was doing my weekly food shop.  You may not know this but, when you buy clothes in the supermarket, it doesn't actually count as chothes shopping but comes under the heading of food shopping.  I like to think I'm quite a trendy wendy in this cardigan but, as usual, I'm the last one to catch onto any trend at all and, as Kerry will probably guess, am wearing my cardigan over a nice pair of mum jeans.

    I haven't figured what to send to Kendra yet - but I'm loving that whole process and can't wait to see what it's like in the end! How very special will that be!

    I love your choice of fabric! Loving that fabric line, but haven't bought any. And what a sweet wish :)

    And girl - you are so adorable! Lovin' the cardigan - and who cares if you have mum jeans on ;) they are comfy right?

    Such a great mug rug. I'm hosting a swap at my blog right now.     You are too adorable Lynne!!! I would never know that you bought a sweater at the supermarket. Mine don't sell sweaters. lol.

    And the mug rug is gorgeous! And I need to get to work on making my prayer for Kendra and her daughter and send the fabric! To do...to do.. to do... so many things!

    That is the bestest union jack mug rug, the utterly sweetest wish for Kendra's future daughter and a perfectly bitchin' new cardy! hehe. (if you catch my drift). So nice to see you here, now I can picture you when I'm emailing in the middle of the night and you're sipping coffee in your new cardy.

    Hey, did you do that lettering on the wish card by hand???!!! It's beautiful!

    So nice to see an actual picture of you, Lynne!! How lucky are you being able to buy clothes in the supermarket? Now that's multi-tasking. And there's nothing wrong with mum jeans. At all.

    Great mug rug Lynne- so YOU! And your fabric and card for Kendra are just SO perfect! Love the cardi too - you will need to think how you might serve it up for dinner when you have finished wearing it - it is 'food' after all!!

    Cool mug rug!it's nice to see the Union Jack. I love your new stylish logo but it is a little strange not seeing the UJ everywhere. Love the photos of you!!The picture of you I had in my head was the lady walking a hedgie! weird huh?

    Everytime I come home with a new sweater my husband always asks, "Did you buy that at the grocery store?" Seriously, what's wrong with that? But then again he thinks EVERY pair of jeans I wear are mom or teacher jeans. I like clothes shopping at the grocery store!

    closest my supermarket gets to cardigans is a bumper pack of J-cloths ...

    I am also a "mum jeans" wearer and LOVE the cardigan. I wish I had a supermarket near me that sold fab clothes like that.





    And I suppose the quilting stuff is okish too.
