Quilt retreat anyone?

OK so I am organising a quilt retreat next year, some time in March.  There will be room for eight people although Mandy and I will take up two of those places.  It will be in Derbyshire, slap bang in the middle of the UK and will start Friday lunchtime and finish Sunday lunchtime.  I will probably charge around £50-£100 to cover costs but it won't be a gala dinner kind of affair - more like we all muck in and throw together some kind of supermarket instant curry selection, soup and bread and cheese for lunch, that kind of thing.

As I can only take 6 guests on this retreat I will probably pick people on the basis of who Mandy and I have most got to know out there in blogland and flickrland.  But I just wanted to see who might be interested and this is probably the quickest and easiest way to find out rather than individually flickrmailing people.

Once we get a group of 8 definites, I'll set up a flickr group and we can organise it through that.

  1. OOOH! I'd be really really interested ... I've never been on any kind of retreat and I would love the chance to meet and quilt with like-minded people :)

  3. Yay!! Count me in! You know I have been waiting for this!! Barring any funnies, like having course dates I cannot change or get out of, or no dog sitter (which hopefully CAN be arranged once I know the dates in advance), I would love to come! About time we got to meet in person... It's going to be great!

  5. Lynne, you have my attention! As we'll be returning from a 3wk trip to SA the last week in Feb, it depends when in March. It would also be a first but oh so exciting! xx

  9. I'M TOTALLY IN!!! SAVE ME A SPOT!!!

Ok, just kidding, but I really wanted to be able to say that, and since I know how to keep caps on and type, I did, but you know I can't really come because Air Canada would likely mangle my new machine and once I got there I wouldn't be able to plug it in anyway, but I want to come and meet you all OH so badly. Can we just set up an IM account so we can chat all weekend? How about you just open a laptop in the corner with the camera facing all of the action and I'll just glue myself to Skype?

You girls are going to have so much fun. ♥

  10. I would love to partly so I could meet everyone in the real world, however- I am not sure work and family commitments will allow- we have to do a family visit before Easter time and also not sure I could get my sewing machine and sewing stuff on a train, I don't want to mess your numbers up x

  14. Ooooh, I'd love too depending on which weekend, as long as it's my child free one, I'd be IN! And --- it's only down the road! Bonus!

  15. Oh, how I wish! Already have plans to hit Europe in June, so that and work make it impossible, even though it is such a LONG way away! And if anyone is worried about packing the sewing machine- if i can drag my bicycle around Europe, a sewing machine would be a breeze! Maybe another time! ;-(

  16. Sounds like fun - but I wouldn't be able to get time off work on the Friday. Now a quilt day would be cool - could I come for a day or how about one later in the year?

  17. I would love to come and meet you and Mandy in person but it would depend when it is in March as fingers crossed I am skiing in Canada in Feb/March.

  21. Wow! It's wonderful that there will actually be one of these in the UK even if it is on a super small scale. I would say I'd love to come but then I don't know you, so it might be kind of weird. Brilliant idea either way :)
