Siblings Together Quilting Bee

Hello everyone, this is Collette from Poppy and Poochie sharing a post about our bee's latest quilt for Siblings Together.  There is some more information about this wonderful charitable organisation by Lynne here and how to get involved.

For the month of August I was sent a generous Fat Quarter bundle of Road 15 by Sweetwater fabrics and Moda.  They are being so generous and donating a bundle for each month of our bee!

The block is based on the woven ribbons block and each bee member made 4 of these with sashing to create a larger block.  The backing fabric is from Pink Castle Fabrics who kindly donated some yardage.  We are also grateful to Lady Sew and Sew who donated a huge roll of wadding for our projects.

I added Kona Slate for the sashing.  The quilt has a scrappy binding with some black and white prints from the Road 15 fabric line.

The quilt has been quilted in a simple criss cross pattern using Aurifil 50 wt cotton thread which is my favourite and only thread for machine piecing and quilting.  So there you have it!   I am humbled to have been involved in putting this together and am sure this quilt will be well loved by the child that receives it!

Stats - approx 54 inches x 72 inches
