Siblings Together Quilting Bee

For anyone who missed my posts on the charity Siblings Together, a whole bunch of us quilters have been making quilts for a charity which brings together children who have been separated from their siblings by the care system in summer camps.  They get to go on holiday with their siblings and they get to take a home made quilt home with them as a reminder of their time on holiday with their siblings.    For anyone who'd like to join in, the starter post is here and the Flickr group can be found here.

So a month ago 12 UK quilters got together and formed a bee to make 12 quilts this year for Siblings Together.  Month one was my month and Moda sent me a bundle of their fabulous line PB&J by Basic Grey.  I asked for a block made up of four morning stars and cornerstones and the whole lot has been put together in this quilt.

The quilt is backed with fabric from Sondra at Contemporary Cloth, the wadding is provided by Lady Sew and Sew and the PB&J was donated by Moda.  Thank you to all our wonderful sponsors for helping us make these 12 quilts.

  11. It's come out beautifully Lynne! And what a beautiful amount of sponsoring too! Do all your sponsors know that in fact there are 24 participants in this bee ? (Necessarily split in bee 1 and bee2) Maybe they would be happy to donate something to bee2 as well, where each participant buys the fabric and the wadding and backing themselves?

  12. What a wonderful quilt. It's the best kind of scrappy, lots of visual interest and color and still bright and fresh looking. I'm sure it'll be loved.
