Stashing

A few new fabric packages have arrived in the mail this week, destined to my next few planned projects.  One of my favourite of all regular packages, the Amitie Textiles Stash Club:

Possibly even more exciting, the new line of Oakshott shot cottons, "Impressions", shot with white.  A beautiful, pastelly, spring-y set of shot cottons.  Coming soon to the Oakshott website.

Some purples from Sew me a Song.

Some reddy purples from V&Co's new line Simply Style for Moda together with an Oakshott Cosmo silk at the back of the pile which matches pretty well with them.

Some fun Bees and Honeycombs from Laurie Wisbrun's new line for Robert Kaufman, Bright and Buzzy including a bee height chart (how cool is that?!).

A couple of quilt backs.  I buy all my quilt backs from Fat Quarter Shop in their sales - at around $5/yd, I can get a quilt back of 4 yds (for a 70" square quilt for example) for $20!

And finally some oranges again from Sew me a Song

What about you?  What have you stashed lately or what do you have your eye on for imminent stashing?!

  3. Now that I've seen them, I rather fancy the reddish purple fabrics from V&Co–you've given me stash envy!

  4. Oh yumyumyum :-) I've managed to keep to only 3 shops this year so far... which is good (for me)... I got Summersville Spring, Shelburne Falls Lilac, and Carnaby Street. You'd think I'd be set for a good while now, wouldnt you... lol

  5. I haven't quite gotten a handle on "stashing"... I tend to buy specific amounts for specific projects, but never have enough leftovers to do much... Right now I realize that I really need to add some solids and blenders to my stash, that would really stretch my leftovers and give me the opportunity to play around and practice more. Love all of the fabrics!

  11. Love the look of the Oakshotts, but have to say their website is a puzzle. Living in Australia I need to order on line so I'd like a colour card but having a bit of trouble working out what's what from their website and how the seasons fit in etc. Similar colours seem to appear in different collections. I emailed for a bit of clarification to work out which colour cards I needed, but they haven't replied and my order keeps slipping into the too hard basket. Don't know if others find the website confusing or if they'd be interested in any feedback?

  13. Where did you buy the Laurie Wishbrun? I want some!!

  14. The Amitie and the purples are so divine. Your fabric choices are amazing and I'm looking forward to seeing how you use them.

  15. I have stopped ordering from the States despite the really good prices. Once one has added in the cost of postage - now $23.95 - and the £8 handling fee charged by Royal Mail if the parcel goes a small amount over the £15 limit allowed by HMRC, it just isn't worth it.
    How do you manage it?

Shot cottons. Check out Fabric Guild where there are some Indian Shot cottons that are a very good price. I don'tkmow if links are allowed but here is one to their newsletter.

  16. Lovely stashing (love that my computer suggested sheathing there instead of stashing lol!) I am always short on orange and purple despite the fact that's always what I try to buy, why is that?! Emily x
