Fabric Fix - possibly a regular feature

When you're a fabricaholic, you need an occasional fabric fix.  Even if you space the orders out, they all arrive one the same day, like a Saturday, when the whole family is at home, and then you look like you're spending all the housekeeping budget on fabric.  And so Saturday's post delivered to me...

1.   Three perfect dots from Little Black Dress by Basic Grey from Sew Me A Song.  I love a perfect dot.  Becca is great at choosing the key blenders from new lines coming out and these are a perfect example to me.

2.   Six Flea Market Fancy prints from Fat Quarter Shop.  I held off and I held off.  I told myself I wasn't following the crowd.  I didn't think I needed FMF.  I was stronger than that.  And then I caved.

3.   Three bonus FQs from Becca at Sew Me a Song.  Becca is the place to go for all the cool modern text / Japenese prints.

4.   Finally some good stash builders.  The black and cream plaid from Chicopee, cream grunge from Little Black Dress from Basic Grey and some Kona snow.  Again all from Fat Quarter Shop, whose extensive selection and top notch service are an example to all online fabric shops.

So fellow fabricaholics, what have been your most recent purchases, what are you buying next and what are you desperate to get your hands on when it is released?!

Comments

  1. Well I'm a material-aholic who can't sew (as you know) which is like being a real alcoholic without a bottle opener. So I'd go for those lovely middle ones with old print on. If anyone was offering to buy me a round.

  2. Ah I thought it was only me who always got tonnes delivered all on the same day when my other half is at home to see. Also if something is delivered on a Saturday, the delivery is at 7.30am and if it is on a weekday it is more like 11am. Why is that? I want a lie in on a Saturday, never mind, stash enhancement makes it all better!

  3. Love those soft-toned dots! And FMF of course! My most recent purchase was some AGF Modernology for my Jack Attack quilt, but I ended up throwing in some Cotton Stars from Riley Blake to use in baby quilts and some Cloud 9 Geocentric Canvas for totes or pouches.

  4. those are my six fav fabrics from FMF - yum :) Right now, i'm having a serious fabric craving for solids. And shot cottons. Through in some Brrr! and I'd be one very happy quilter :)

  5. Haven't you trained your postie to deliver your parcels when no one else is in?!!
P.S. You were very restrained in your caving!

  6. Oh gosh...is there enough space in this comment box? I too caved and got a bundle of 8 FQs of FMF (arrived yesterday!). I also ordered yardage of some Amy Butler Lark, and a red & white stripe to use for binding. And then today I got a wild hair to shop and went to the LQS and picked up 7 stash builder type prints. All from different lines, but all equally yummy. I am getting ready to place ANOTHER order for some low value prints. And possibly some Chicopee to use in a birthday gift for my sister. Oh and I need the Elizabeth Hartman Blogger's Choice FQ bundle from Fat Quarter Shop when it is released next month. And then there's the big quilt festival in Houston at the beginning of November - I've been saving pennies for that, so I plan to go crazy and just buy everything I see (1100 vendor booths!!).

    How's that for fabriholic?

  7. Great bounties Lynne!
My latest purchase is Chicopee by Denyse Schmidt, the whole series, I caved in after I saw the fabrics at my quilt friend’s house. I almost never buy complete series anymore, but these fabrics are so great to combine with others and I’m a complete DS addict.
I would love to buy Fiels Studies by Anna Maria Horner. Next on my wish list!

  9. Oooo, Becca has some great stuff. When I am off my fabric diet, I really want to add some text prints and textural stash builders like Crosshatch Sketch. I'm going to be living near Sew Modern, so it's going to be hard to say no!

  10. You've just introduced me to another online shop - thank you.
I'm only trying to buy specifically for commissions at the moment and not just 'because'....but there are a lot of good offers out there I don't know how long I'll last.

  11. psh...you call that caving? lol Come on over across the pond and I'll show you a room FULL of caving. ;)

  12. I'm pretty good at only buying for actual planned projects; luckily I have *many* of these...
This month I bought some Miami in Midtown (swoon!) just because; some Ziggy Medallion in Red (Chicopee) because it absolutely and completely matches my raspberry-purple-wine stack; and some Bon Appetit Accounts for the text stash.
Future purchases? Notting Hill is looking yummy...
I'm loving that black and cream plaid you bought; and I never even noticed it when drooling over Chicopee. More fool me.

  13. And a partridge in a pear tree... (sorry, couldn't resist)

All my fabric buying is going to my friend in the US who's bringing it to Sewing Summit for me, so I have no guilt whatsoever right now... Come the handover day it may be a different story lol

  14. I was exactly the same with Flea Market Fancy, I told myself I'm not a lemming, I don't need it. Well, it got both fat quarter packs from the Fat Quarter shop. And the day before yesterday I came across a German online shop that still had Hope Valley. The mailman brought it today... . But I'm still undecided about Field Study, this might arrive soon as well...

  15. Just an occasional fabric fix? HeeHee! Love your choices, Lynne! I was the same way with the flea market fancy. It can be tough to tell if I really like something or I am caving to public opinion. I waited, and when I finally got some fmf, I loved it!! How about a Fabric Fix link up? That would be fun!! Always a pleasure to visit your blog :-)

  16. I cannot stop. My collection is dear to me:) I have 50 years of collection in my sewing room. Now that I have been injured with a concussion..going on 3 months. I cannot read or drive, but I can sew and I can certainly use Paypal!!! Stripes and dots and AMH and DS and children's prints for baby quilts and bibs...sigh. Quilting has kept me sane.
