My mate Angela over at Cut To Pieces (talented, lovely blogger, if you don't know her blog, you won't regret taking a good look around over there) is doing a series of posts about people's different quilting lives around the world and yesterday she featured some Brit quilter called Lynne something or other. There are a few pictures of the stuff she's made and a picture of her in a supermarket cardigan (gasp). She's not really my kind of quilter and to be honest I don't think she's that good but you know she probably tries her best I expect. If you fancy reading the post, it's right here.
HAhahahahaha I read your blog post and was aghast that you would say something non-positive (so unlike you!) about someone else. And then I clicked on the link and though "what are you talking about, these are GORGEOUS, and I feel like I've seen them before" and then I actually read the post and noticed the NAME of the featured blogger.
ReplyDeleteHahahahahaha Nice.
You got me too. I would have to disagree with you and say quilting is very popular in the UK. You should have seen the variety of quilts at the Festival of Quilts last month. And I belong to a 70 strong guild in little Jersey Not bad for a little island.
ReplyDeleteI didn't bite - I knew you were up to something hookey - great post and what an amazing range of quilts - well done Lynne
ReplyDeleteOk I fell for it. Rubbish my hiney, you do beautiful unique work!
ReplyDeleteThat was a brilliant interview - love, love that quilt in the snow.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you have only been doing this for just over a year. Do you own a time machine or something?
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the great feature.
Deborah
Great interview Lynne!
ReplyDeletePS The cardi is lovely!!!!!!!
Great interview, knew it'd be you though, you are the only quilter you'd ever say an off word about... nutter!
ReplyDeleteAwesome interview and beautiful, beautiful quilts. Keep up the pace, woman! You really have something going there which is amazing! (If you can afford it with those prices in the UK. LOL)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great interview! Good for you! Your quilts are just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteLoved it! As I will be moving to London within a year or two, I see that I need to extend my stash, since fabric is so expensive over there. :) Thanks for the good read and all the great ideas!
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing so many of your quilts in one post! You are amazingly talented!
ReplyDeletewait a minute! That's YOU!!! silly ~ loved all the photos of your work and getting to know you a bit more.
ReplyDeleteYou silly girl. At first I thought you were dissing Angela. LOL But then I said, This is Lynne who is talking here, and I knew better!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Lynne - I loved every minute but you are the typical self-deprecating Brit, fortunately none of us believe you are anything other than wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteoh, I caught on right off. Great interview and beautiful quilts!
ReplyDeleteIt is a great interview, I know that Lynne person and her quilts, she is one of my favourites, you should not be so hard on her!
ReplyDeleteYou are just too funny. I love going over and reading more about you. I love every quilt you make!
ReplyDeleteYou never fail to bring a smile to my face. And your work is phenomenal!
ReplyDeleteOh how I wanted to comment that you were really crap and made all your children do all the sewing for you; I resisted, everyone-else was too serious!
ReplyDeleteDolly Parton impersonation would be wonderful to hear from a Brit!! lol:)
ReplyDeleteYes friends all over the world---such a fabulous thing!
Your interview was refreshing Lynne.
I totally agree with you Lynne - NOT!
ReplyDeleteyeah, I'm not sure that Lynne lady should even be allowed to use a sewing machine ...
ReplyDeleteBwahaha! great post Lynne .. I loved it ... and worship at your presser foot ...
Lovely post - knew it would be you when you mentioned the cardigan!
ReplyDeleteI have only just read this think talking in accents must be genetic. I have key-words to get me into the accent. For Northern Ireland it is 'Suzuki 250'. Works every time. And for South African, 'President Van der Merwe'. Oh and talking of Dolly, she was asked what she wanted people to say about her in 100 years time and she replied 'wow, she looks good for her age'. Bless her fake boobs.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely horrified by your comment... until I twigged! :) Got me! hehe
