OK so here is a silent video clip showing how to tie a knot for hand sewing. It is silent because I was too shy to talk so I will pluck up my courage for the next few clips. But could you let me know if you can see it and if you can see how I tie a knot. I mean it's not a revolutionary knot or anything but it's revolutionary for me to manage the technical steps required to put a film on my blog.
I've never seen a knot tied like that before....I have more of a granny knot style. lol I could follow it....and have just done it along with the video. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteOops....I forgot to add....I'm left handed, so sometimes find it tricky to follow things....yours was perfect!
ReplyDeleteAgain, a new method on me! But all showing fine!
ReplyDeleteThat is how I do it. However, I machine piece now.

ReplyDeleteNever seen a knot tied like that before. I am going to try when I get home and report back. It looked a bit like magic. I best practice on some crap thread first ;-)
ReplyDeleteAll clear - and I just tried it and worked beautifully! Ta missus!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a knot tied like that either. I will have to give it ago next time I am forced to hand sew. Which I suspect will be sooner than I think - I better print off those templates asap as there's not much of the masterchef season left. Speaking of which... I better go, it's already started ;)

You can definitely see it and I'm going to try it. But how can you go from dancing in front of the camera to not talking in front of it? LOL - you are too much fun. When I move to England (hopefully this year) I want to meet you! BTW-your kitchen or dining room is awesome!
ReplyDeleteYep looking good. I've never seen a knot tied like that before either, learn something new every day.
ReplyDeleteAs an aside... have you been decapitated? Or did you just want to show us your bewbs? :-)
Great video, Lynne. I tie my knots that way too. I look forward to more videos in the future.
ReplyDeleteGirl you sure know how to tie a knot! Sammy-Jo x
ReplyDeleteWe can see everything very clearly.
ReplyDeleteEspecially when you don't know your own strength ...

a beautifully executed Dressmaker's knot - my mum taught me this knot and I love it for hand quilting - it's so easy to bury ...
ReplyDeleteSilent Movie style, eh? ... am waiting for Lily's The Musical ... like Glee, only Quilting ...
This is perfect. That is how I learned to tie a quilt knot years ago when I learned had piecing. It shows up perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI just learned that this year from a friend. I love it and use it all the time on my hexies. Nice video, but don't be afraid to talk and sing or whatever! : )
ReplyDeleteI get it! Looking forward to the talkies!
ReplyDeleteThat's how I tie a knot too and your video was beautifully clear. What's next?
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! It took me a couple of tries at first. :D Thanks for posting this!
