Flickr faves

I confess I am really enjoying picking weekly faves.  It sort of reminds me of all the great inspiration there is to be found in Flickrland.

1. Simply Homemade Magazine Project.  My mate Laura Needles, Pins and Baking Tins had the FRONT COVER and a SEVEN PAGE SPREAD in Simply Homemade Magazine this week with some beautiful Christmas projects.  I love them all but this one was my favourite and I think Im' going to copy it and make my own as my front door wreath.

2. The Race that Stops a Nation. Once again, Amy Badskirt comes up with something I really love.  She is so clever with fabric.  I wish I'd thought of that idea.

3. Pillow centre inset square: tricksy but it is in there now.  I cannot wait to see this pillow in all its glory.  Kerry Very Kerry Berry has such a beautiful way with fabric and is always pushing the design boundaries into new ideas.  I've tried to do things like her but they never look as good as she makes them.

4. Sea of Stars.  Elizabeth Don't Call Me Betsy is EXACTLY bang on my kind of quilt designer.  She designs beautiful traditional style quilts in fresh modern fabrics and I always love her patterns.  This is a new one called Sea and Stars.

5. Yuletide Twist Pillow.  Tacha Breucher is one of my fellow Fat Quarterly team members.  I say that like I'm sort of the boss but I'm the tea lady and she's more or less the boss.  She's too nice to be bossy but she's the clever one amongst us.  Anyway, she is annoyingly clever with her designs and has designed this quilt for the new Christmas issue of Fat Quarterly and then added a pillow as a Moda Bake Shop design.

6. New Mexico Star.   Rita Red Pepper Quilts does foundation paper piecing and kills that too.  Go figure.

7. Etchings cushion.  Etchings by 3 Sisters for Moda was one of my favourite lines of last year and look at this lovely pillow made by Susan Canadian Abroad.

8. Crib quilts for Twins.  Amy Smart Diary of a Quilter and I lived in the same neck of the woods in London about 25 years ago and frequented the same bars and restaurants but only met all these years later online.   I just love these pretty and simply twin quilts and love how she's set the squares on point.  That always adds interest for me.

And I love to hear your Flickr faves too.

  1. I love Amy's quilt too - it's amazing how many every day images are out there that we never consider for quilt adaptation and when someone like Amy does we just slap our forehead's and mutter 'why didn't I think of that' ;o)

  3. Elizabeth's quilt really reminds you of the tiles you find here and I can't wait to see Kerry's cushion. Susan's cushion is gorgeous too.

  14. Aww, I feel honored to be here amongst such pretties! Thank you! We need to frequent the same spots in London again someday...I'm quite serious about that! But I guess that means I'm the one who needs to get my hinie over there again.
