On Moda Bake Shop Today

Today a quilt of mine is over on Moda Bake Shop.  I say that, casual as can be but it still does give me a thrill.  Here's a sneak peek of the quilt but you'll have to click through to see the whole thing (and please do and please also leave a comment if you have a minute because it's lonely over there all by myself).

It was a funny one, this quilt.  When it's all folded it is my favourite quilt of all.  And when it's all scrumpled up on the sofa with one of the kids snuggled under it, it looks wonderful.  But, when hung up and photographed, I don't think it works so well.  I'm not really sure why.  I love Malka's line and I can spend hours with this quilt on my knee admiring all the different prints but does the whole quilt work together?  I don't really know.

  1. It looks amazing, folded, unfolded, scrunched up, however you want to show it. Love it!

  2. Honestly? I think your quilt design is absolutely gorgeous. I would love to see this quilt made with other fabrics from several fabric lines. Sometimes, the use of a complete fabric line can work against it.
Though I’m an avid lover of colour, and I love Malka’s work, these fabrics are just too much for me.
I’m sure others will love it though!

  3. love it Lynne ... with all tbat colour action going on it all pulls together beautifully ... my synaesthesia makes me extremely wary of primaries , but I love this!

  4. I love those in your face colours, esepcially in winter and the impro technique. It is a quilt to be used, if you like it best with the kids inside it that sounds perfect to me. It is the way a quilt should be-don't want to just keep the wall warm with it!

And I have been getting increased spam too.

  6. It's a fab quilt, but it's true that folded photo doesn't do it justice. Weird as it is lovely. Maybe the fence needs cleaning. That was a joke.

  15. I think it looks fabulous, Lynne - folded or not!!! I know it's colorful, and maybe it's just the cacophany of all the colors together is just a little loud, but I like loud :)

  18. Lynne, great quilt. I really like how you created the wonkiness but reincorporated the scraps so the "waste" was reduced.
