It's time. It's time for me to set up my very own Flickr group. The day has come when someone has seen fit to make something that I thought up all by myself (thank you Lynz). This is a very exciting day for me.
Why join my flickr group? Well for one to show off anything you've made from a pattern or tutorial of mine. Two, to meet and chat with me and other friends of Lily's Quilts. Thirdly, to be in the right place at the right time for news of my Quilt-a-long which is starting IMMINENTLY and will be sponsored by my real life friend Mandy (aka Simply Solids). And fourthly so I don't look like Norma no mates with a Flickr group with me and me alone sitting in the corner drinking a cup of tea all by myself and crying into my fat quarters.
And what's it all about? It's all about having fun with quilting, having a laugh and a joke, not worrying about getting it wrong, making up the rules as you go, seams that are too small, points that don't match, using the wrong needle, buying cheap thread that snarls up your machine, not knowing how to clean the fluff out of your machine so it builds up into large sheep-like lumps and prevents your machine from working - it's all about the bish bash bosh of quilting. It's a group to come and play in if you feel like everyone else knows what they're doing except you. So, without further ado, here's the Flickr group and here's the button, should you be inclined to add a button to your blog :-)

Here's hoping there are plenty of quilts displayed here soon, based on your tutorials and designs.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if anyone has done their own version of your book quilt?
Well, Lynne, as someone who is often crying about my fat quarters ... oh, you mean fabric.... I'll be happy to keep you from the Norma fate and join your flikr group - I'll post my union jack cushion! Go you! x
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited. Your Hexagon Park is my next quilt to complete after I return from Vacation. I'll be sure to post to your flickr group.
ReplyDeleteQuilt along with with Simply Solids for a sponsor. . . very intriguing! How long will you make us wait in suspense????
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the Flikr group, how exciting! And thx for introducing me to Simply Solids too, I've only been quilting for 2 months and am in desperate need of a good solids supply! :o)
ReplyDeleteYikes! I've never joined a flickr group before! I'm terrified, but I'm in! Be prepared for lots of numptying (only just getting my head round blogging, never mind Flickr!). Jxo
ReplyDeleteYou are one bad lady! Wicked. Can't wait to join all the fun. LSWH
ReplyDeleteI love your description of what it is all about ;)
ReplyDeleteOoh, a quiltalong! Now how am I supposed to make Hexagon Park and attempt a quiltalong too?!!
ReplyDeleteDam you, you're starting a quiltalong and you didn't give me any notice before I just started a new queen sized quilt??? Oh well, there goes homemade dinners for another month. Sign me up.
ReplyDeleteWoo Hoo another quilt along!!! Is it going to be Hexigon Park or another new pattern? Oooh, oooh off to Mandy's to see if she has any hints. ;)
ReplyDeleteHave duly joined. And, although not a quilter I have just made curtains for L&S, put the pole up and screwed it to the wall and it is all so wobbly that I have had to tell them they are not allowed to open their own curtains on pain of being knocked out.
ReplyDeleteIt all sounds very exciting to me Lynne. Bish bash bosh eh? And you have to clean your machine! No? Really? I thought you just bought a new one when the old one was full up. Do you mean I spent all that money for nothing? :))
ReplyDeleteyay! a LQFG...cool!
